It's been a long time...
It doesn't seem like anyone gets on here anymore, but if you do, and you're interested in what has been going on here, here goes!
My little family is doing well. Savannah started 1st grade this year. She takes school very seriously, but still manages to enjoy it. The minute she comes in the door, she is ready to do her homework. I sure hope she does not lose her enthusiasm to learn! She is still taking violin lessons, and they are starting to pay off. She has also joined the school's little pep squad. It is amazing how many friends she has made. Sometimes, it feels like all I ever do is go to birthday parties! Drake will start PK4 next year, but he would go this year if I let him! He definitely misses his sister while she is at school. I have found a little music class for him, and he likes it, but not as much as getting to run wild with a bunch of little boys playing soccer. It is pretty fun to watch--especially since the risk of getting hurt is very small.
My mom continues to fight LMS. She just received her 11th round of chemo. The chemo is slowly shrinking her tumors and/or keeping the cancer stable. Hopefully, she'll be able to take a little break soon since it is going on a year, next month, with this 3rd time of battling her cancer. It is approaching 7 years since her diagnosis, and her doctors are amazed that she is still alive and fighting. We know it is due to the many prayers being said for her. Many thanks to all of you who continue to pray on her behalf.
Amber and the boys are doing okay. Please continue to pray for her to remain strong as a single mom. I so want her to find a good, christian man to help her raise her precious boys if you know of anyone... Amanda has found a sweet man to take care of her. As most of you know, she and Ted were married a couple of months ago, and they seem to be enjoying wedded bliss! Drake and Krystina are expecting a baby boy in just a few weeks, and we are all looking forward to another precious baby to love.
Most of you probably have not heard, but Michael's dad was recently diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. He just turned 60. While it is not a complete surprise (his mother had it), it is still difficult to deal with, so prayers on his and Michael's mom's behalf would be appreciated too.
We still need lots of prayers for the situation with the church here. We had gained some new members, and it looked like we were really going to start growing, in number, but then we had a couple of young couples move away. Also, one of our older men is now in a nursing home, so it has been discouraging. What is most disheartening is learning that lies are being spread about our group and that fellow christians do no question them, but believe them. I do not know what you do in such a situation, except keep on serving God and pray for strength. It is very hard having so few christian friends, and I really worry about my kids. I continually pray that I will teach them the truth and most importantly to love God first and foremost.
There is definitely a lot to pray about here, but overall, we are happy and grateful for all our many blessings. Much love to all of you and hopes that you are doing well...
