In my last post a few years ago, I said that I was almost an empty-nester. Well...since it has been so long since I posted, a few marvelous things have happened to our family... We are grandparents now!
We have two sons-in-law. Amy was married March 1, 2010, and Heather was married August 9, 2008. Amy now has a newborn (in fact, her daughter was born February 12, 2012). Heather is expecting her first May 13. She is expecting a daughter also.
God has blessed us richly!
(When we get a new family photo made, I'll need to figure out how to post it. The picture I have is out-dated)

Hi! I realized it has been almost a year since I last posted...and my life has changed drastically since then. I guess you could say I'm almost an "empty-nester."
Heather was married August 9th (I would post pictures, but don't know how...) She seems very happy. Married life is agreeing very well with them. (also, I finally have a son)
Amy has been working quite a bit lately. She babysits and does work on the computer for a family at church.
Of course, my DH Scot, is working everyday to support his changing family.
The silence is deafening!
(I should have added that I am recovering from surgery. I had a complete hysterectomy in June. I feel almost back to normal, except my back muscles took a tremendous "hit."...which will take some time for them to adjust to the loss of firmness in my abdominal muscles. In the meantime, the back muscles are causing some pain.)

I hope everyone out there had a wonderful and merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Our Christmas Eve was very memorable and special. Our youngest daughter, Heather, was proposed to. Her Phillip is a very spiritual young man and is precious to us (and he is romantic, too). He asked Scot for her hand a few weeks ago. Then on Christmas Eve, he proposed to her in front of our family and his family. He also got down on one knee to "ask the question" (oh, she said "Yes". They want to marry sometime near the end of July)
Oh, BTW, this past Christmas Eve was my 50th birthday...I'll never forget it.

Well, can you believe that summer is about over? I hope everyone had a great summer vacation. Heather has already started school for this year, and Amy will start her class at the University of Louisville the 20th.
I wonder if God made the winter months seem long and dreary so that we would appreciate the beautiful summer even more...What do you think?

Ok, so I've been tagged.
The rules:
each player of this game starts with the "6 weird habits about you." People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 things and state this rule clearly. At the end, I'll choose 6 people that I'm tagging and list their names. You'll each recieve a comment telling you that you have been tagged. (That is if I can find six people who have not already been tagged)
1. I want to pull weeds in the front yard ... but can't because of a sore back.
2. I like to collect recipes.
3. I like to vacuum and see the vacuum marks ... but ... (please refer to #1).
4. I like tapioca pudding.
5. I like to hoe weeds in the garden ... but ... (please refer to #1).
6. I like things to be clean and in order ... but ... (sore back)
I sound like a neat freak. I guess I have been since we moved into a house in Texas when Amy was still crawling. The top of her socks were black from the dirty floor. (Kinda bothered me ... and from that time I decided to be able to "eat" off my kitchen floor).
I'll get back to the six people I have to tag. Is anyone left who has not been tagged? Let me know.

Well, I couldn't stand seeing those weeds out front, so I pulled up some of them (I took Phoenixsong's advice and wore 3 heat pads while doing the pulling)
