Once again Luke, Ben, and Julianne Metzger have come to celebrate my mothers 85th Birthday!!

    I know someone who lived through the depression: My Great-Grandpa Shafer. He just turned 80 2 weeks ago, and the whole Shafer family went to celebrate it. He btalked about his life, and one of the things he remembered was the depression. He was a kid during the depression, and he was sent to live with HIS grandpa (My great-great-GREAT-grandpa) because his parents could'nt support the whole family.

    Hi, Linda. Thank you for the note about Winnie. I'm glad she's at rest now. I was looking at the post above (before noting the date) and when I read it was a celebration of Winnie's birthday, I thought (even if this was written recently here before her death) "Her birthday is in September, as I recall." Then I looked at the date. Her birthday was 4 days after Steve's.

    I see now that this is an old post. So, she was almost 87, wasn't she? What a full life she lived. I hope that things fall together for you in with the house and for new opportunities in your life. God Bless you, Linda. So good to hear from you!

Hi! I'm Linda- aunt of Ben, Julianne and Luke Metzger.

We just got back from Moonlight BBQ. A nice lunch was had by all. :-)

    Hey Aunt Linda! We are in Chicago. We saw some houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright this morning and went to a farmer's market. Our ride should be here soon to take us on up to the camp. Julianne and her friend stayed up too late talking last night. They are taking a nap!!
