What is it with Tuesdays ? Two weeks ago on Tuesday, we had some freak weather come through town - Tornados !! Then a week later, also on Tuesday, more violent storms with HIGH winds, bordering on tornados. Then for a change of pace, this past Tuesday, we have snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Not only did the kids have a SNOW day, but I ended up taking the day off also. No need fighting the mob headed into downtown Louisville !! I decided to sleep and do some clutter clean up.

Just a side note to all the Ron Paul dissenters in the audience. Get ready for 4 more years of the same old politics that have put us in the precarious situations that we find our country in. Ron Paul only wanted to get back to our roots -- following the Constitution, which IS the Law of the Land. For that he gets beat up, ignored, put down, and relegated to insignificance by the major media. Too bad that this man of character did not get a better shake by the media and the people of this nation.

I will try to be more visible on these pages. Especially now that we have our new Mac and I don't have to worry about the curse of Bill Gates (freezing up at every turn). Now if only we can get a tranquil Tuesday !!

Now on to the UK /LSU game.

After our recent COLD spell, warm weather seems to be on the horizon. What ever happened to GLOBAL WARMING ? Gotta send a note to MR. GORE and ask him about that. Seeing the baseball season begin amidst snow and cold in Detroit, Cleveland and other northern towns makes me wonder what all the fuss is about. Some of my friends at work are actually cheering on global warming. The more HOT weather the better !! Just think, if it gets warm enough, Kentucky would be the new Florida. We wouldn't need to make any more trips south to enjoy great WARM weather. This is important when you are on the downside of life and extreme COLD makes your bones seem like they are going to SNAP.

If only we could find a way to get the grass to STOP growing. As the years go by (and my help leaves for college) it gets tougher and tougher to cut the fast growing vegetation around the homestead. Hmmm.. maybe a good ROCK garden is the answer.

Hello again. Thank you all for the birthday greetings and the comments. I apologize again for not being more vigilant in getting back to you all. Lately I have been on the shelf with a HORRIBLE virus. The good thing is, it gives me time to get back on and say hello to everyone. I need to slow down and do this more often (and not wait for medical reasons).

I had wanted to do a pre election blog and encourage everyone to get out there and vote. Alas, it looks like the people have spoken and we once again switch horses. This just goes to show you that people do notice whether promises are kept. Lets hope that lessons were learned (by both sides). Another thing we need to move toward in this country is to look at ALL the people running, not just members of the two major parties. You might just see someone more fitting to your beliefs.

While I have been gone, it looks like some people have left and others have joined our writing community. Its sad to see old friends leave but joyous to see new friends join !! And then there are slow, old, curmudgeons, like yours truly, that come out from under their rocks to reappear. Its good to be back !! Even if I have to stop every other second to cough !!

Hi to everyone out there in pleo land. I have taken an extended sabbatical from posting (combination of being busy, distracted, and downright LAZY). The summer is almost over and we have enjoyed many excursions to visit friends and family. Sometimes you just have to take a breath and relax before going back out on the road. It has been a true JOY to see old friends and meet new ones.

Now that school is back in session, our journeys are bound to slow down. Has everyone out there enjoyed this past summer as we have ? If you want, share some of your adventures, let us know what you have been up to these past few months.
Some of our highlights included :

- visiting with the McPherson's at Winchester, when Tim
was there to preach. It was great to get together with
Tim and his wonderful family. We look forward to
visiting them in West Virginia in November.

- visiting with Alex, Dan, Bailey and Paul in Bowling
Green a week ago. It was a fun day spent with a great
group of friends. Alex is a master photographer (as
attested by his great shots of Sarah). Dan graciously
invited us into his home and Bailey was a joy to be
around. Paul.... is, oh well 3 out of 4 aint bad !!
(just kidding Pauley - but it was tempting to hurl
you over that bridge railing)

- A summer trip to Michigan to see all the relatives.
Our sons and their lovely girlfriends, Susie and Rebecca were able to join us, which is always a
delight.

- Several excursions to Southern Indiana to visit our
friends at Charlestown.

- Also the one day Kentucky Kingdom visit. Our friends
Grayson and Gavin accompanied us there and made the
time there all the more enjoyable.

There were probably some that I missed but I don't want to make this any longer since you all would be dozing off. Hopefully I will not be gone for any extended period of time. Till later !
