As my time here in the desert is counting down the final day is getting closer and closer to actually being here. There is a rumor going around that we will be leaving here the 28th of August and if that is so i would be the happiest boy in the world because that means that i only have about 25 days left here. Its been good so far here but doing the same thing over and over is very repetitve. Groundhog day is almost over. Yeah.
More Pictures To come Soon...Peace Out Boo!

Working here in the desert gets pretty boring sitting at different locations watching TCN's (third country nationalists) work. So i find ways to keep a little sanity (which is hard for me to stay sane). I really miss Snowboarding a lot so i came up with the ingeious idea to make a "balance board" I had some of the workers cut me a pipe about 3" in diameter and 1 foot long. Then i had them cut a board a little bigger then a size of a skateboard. Then i jump on it and do tricks while balancing. Its pretty easy for those who have had experience doing any board sports. All the TCN's just sit and watch us do it (they think were insane). So i found out yesterday that a few days ago a few of these workers went home and made a balance board of there own! And then i come to find out that two of them fell really hard. One injured their thigh really bad and cant work and one broke a wrist. Im not really to concerned about things like a little bone injury im now more concerned about these guys familys back in india. They send 90% of there pay check back home to India and thats how there familys live. If they cant work they cant support there family and they will DIE!!! Well probably not die but its still kinda sad. Ok thought id share why im an evil evil man.

As the weather gets hotter and hotter here the need for things like water, shelter, and air conditioning increases. There is a huge base rebuilding program going on here and one of the Dirt Boys dug into the ground and shut off all the power on base! No power means no A/C!!! So at about 1400 i get off work and go try and take a nap in my room. I never realized before that our dorms are made out of metal and with out a/c they turn into an arabic easy bake oven. It was 118.f outside and even hotter in the rooms. So me and a buddy try going to the pool to get cooled off, but NOOOO the pool can not be swam in due to lack of water rotation because of no power. At 1930 the group "Tops in Blue" came and performed for us (via generators) they had some good singing, dancing, and great instrumentals. So after that i went back to my dorm and needed to go to bed because i had to be up at 0300 for work. So i slept on the roof of a bunker. I went to sleep up there alone and when i woke up there was about 6 other people all snoring away up there as well. (kinda funny). At 0250 the power came back on and i went back to my room and soaked up 10 minutes of cool air and now im at work. So the moral of this story is "Dont take A/C for granted when your in the middle of the desert."
Me on the computer the morning of the Power Outage! (See the homeless sleeping on the ground of our shop because their rooms are too hot!!!)
LOL
