The Christmas holidays are now a thing of the past and soon 2009 will be too. Here's hoping that everyone will have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.

I finally got around to decorating my tree that has been sitting bare in my living room. I put away all the fall decorations, inside & out and began to put out other Christmas decorations. I don't think I will decorate quite as much this year. I have a lot of the village houses, but I don't think I will put them out. They are pretty, but it is so much work to unpack them all and them have to pack them all back later. I think I will keep it somewhat simple this year.
Tomorrow they are calling for our first snow fall for the season. It is suppose to be cold and rainy at first and then change to snow. Sounds like a good day for homemade soup and watching Christmas movies.
Today was Josh's 30th birthday. We had a few folks over to celebrate his BIG day. I fixed all his favorite snack foods and then Del & I made homemade ice cream. And I made German Chocolate Cake ICING to put on the ice cream.....no cake, just icing. Another one of his favorites that his grandmother use to always fix for him. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful son-in-law.
This afternoon I was scurrying around cleaning the house and cooking and I decided to move the rockers on the patio to the porch. I went outside and moved the rockers and then went to come back in and guess what......the door was locked......I don't have a key......nor a phone.....I'm in short sleeves & it's getting cold outside.....and it's 2 more hours before Del gets home. What a terrible feeling! Fortunately, my neighbor was home and she let me stay at her house until Del got home.....he left work early so that he could let his wife in the house. That's the second time I have done that since we moved here 4 1/2 years ago. I suppose I should not go outside when I'm scurrying around!

Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. Let us be thankful to God everyday for all the blessings we have, both spiritual and physical.

Applebutter Day was a great success with over 100 of family & friends present. Our feet & bodies hurt, but when you put a smile on the face of someone, it's well worth it. I will post pictures later.

Yes, the second batch of apples are now done. My husband, in his wisdom or lack there of, decided to make two batches of applebutter this year. That is 100 gallons of applebutter. Needless to say, this is the last year he will be doing this.
Our annual applebutter day is this Saturday. It's raining today, tomorrow, the next day and hopefully not on Saturday, but if it does, it does and I just pray that the Lord will help me through it. There could be worse things.
Got to run.....lots to do between now and Saturday.
