Well, I drove to Manhattan today. Manhattan, Illinois, where my future roommate lives. (I'm using her computer) It's been a great time!! We took the train into Chicago and met with another friend from Augustana, and went to the Dashboard concert at the Chicago theater!! It was awesome!!!! I really liked Dashboard Confessional before, but seeing them in Chicago has just made them seem even better! Wow. Ben Lee and Say Anything opened, but we missed Ben Lee because the lines were so long, and I didn't really like Say Anything....
It's pretty late now, and I am exhausted from all of my traveling. So I'm going to bed. I hope anyone who reads this is doing well!

Though it is only a seven hour shift, 2:30-9:30 feels like the equivalent of a month. Don't get me wrong, I really like my job. I've been working at Bergner's (aka Carson Pirie Scott, Younkers, Boston Store) for just over a month, and the only thing that remotely bothers me is standing all day-- but I've gotten used to it.
I will say one thing, I am a natural at folding shirts-- something that my dad can't comprehend since I "never" fold my own clothes. I guess there is a difference when you are getting PAID to do it.
Anyway, as the subject line states, I'm really glad that I haven't overdrawn my account! I recently signed up for on-line banking, and noticed that even though I had been working for 6+ weeks, my checking account had only lost money! Apparently the direct deposit service fell through-- so I picked up 6 paycheck today. Now all is well in that aspect.
You know, it is really hard to work in a department store. Not because of the duties I perform, but because of the will power it takes not to buy everything! I could never work in a book or music store-- I'd be broke! It's bad enough that the last time I set foot in a Borders I came out with KT Tunstall, the new Keane, and the new Dashboard Confessional! I have exiled myself from any book/music store for two months. At least.
I seem like a shopaholic. However it may appear, this is not the case. I do okay.
Wow. I can't believe that I have just written all of this down. I'm going to stop my babbling and end for tonight. Who knows when I'll be back!!!

Well, I can't make any promises, but I'm going to try this blogging thing for a while. I'll just begin by saying that I haven't proven to be too reliable when it comes to any sort of committed correspondence.
The Shutt Family reunion was awesome this year! I feel like I have gotten even closer to my family, even though we only could spend the weekend together.
The whole power outage thing was bizarre--but proved to make the whole experience that much more memorable. I do think that Night-time Pictionary should join Tabloid Teasers as an annual event! It was too bad that there wasn't a Tabloid Teasers experience this year, but there is always next time!
Like I continually say, the family reunion is my favorite time of year. Seriously, is there anything better than coming together with a large group of people that you love and you know love you back? (That came out a little awkward, but I think I got my point across)
To any members of the Shutt family reading this--In my opinion, the next reunion can't come soon enough.
Well, that's it for tonight. I have to work tomorrow, and I desperately need sleep.
I am so glad you had a good time.
