Anyone who can define "ethereal" gets cool points.

Wow, it's amazing how nearly a month can go by without posting. Maybe it's a good thing.

I really don't have alot to say. This month has been good. I'll be moving a week and a half from now it's a little weird to think about. Michael preached at Kimberly last night, good lesson. He talked about seeking first, not worrying, corvette's not being important, so on and so forth.

Leadership Camp(or Sewell Hall Camp w/e floats your boat)was this past week. It was great for me, saw some things that I need to work alot on to better myself. I was really encouraged by the tenacity of most all of the guys that were there. Especially the younger guys, very impressive and inspiring. Really awesome week. Btw for any of the guys who went to the camp there's a pleo group started. The link is over to the side there.

Well I am super tired so I think I'm gonna have to hit up a nap. Hope everyone is doin great.

excellent hymn. i'll try for the cool points: "ethereal" refers to the old belief that the heavens were composed of a somewhat mystical substance - ether. nowadays, we used the word "ethereal" as a poetic way to say "heavenly," or "celestial."

Not that any of you really care about what's going on in my life, but it's been almost a month and I'm told the point of this blog business is to publicize your life activivites periodically. Here we go.

Since our last episode many things have happened in Ben's World. Went to camp which was fun and all, last time for that so it hurt pretty good. I didn't get to keep all of my promises but there's always next time. Let's see I've been workin too. Setting up for rock star parties, risking life and limb on ladders and scissor lifts doing maintenance things, being studly, etc. Seriously I do have a job. Uhh....two weeks ago I went to UAB to be Blazerized for school this fall. Probably the most boring liberal-propaganized event I have ever been forced to attend. But I have a class schedule, an ID card, and that's about it I guess. It was a good week outside of the orientation though.

Well I hope everyone has a fun and safe Independence Day. Be nice to your British friends. They can't help what their ancestors did...who am I kidding. DOWN WITH THE BRITS!!! jk Superman was better than I expected in case you're considering going to see it. A little random I know, but true.

Popular music, while secular in nature, can many times have deep spiritual meaning when put in the right perspective. This deep meaning came to me as I was listening to a recently purchased cd of mine. Observe the following lyric...

"It seems to me some fine things have been laid upon your table, but you only want the one that you can't get."

Now I am sure Don Henley & Co. were not thinking of a Christian's life/attitude while singing this song, but as I was listening some thoughts began to stir(odd I know)in my mind.

How many times is this our attitude as Christians? How often do we want the worldly things that we "can't get" because of our service to God? How often do I neglect the "fine things" God has set on my table? Think about all the blessings we get from being Christians: love from/for others, a family like no other; common goals and interests that can be shared with others; a wholesome, succesful, happy life brought about by the values we follow(or at least should be following)in our lives; peace that "passes ALL understanding"; true love from an awesomely powerful Creator. Oh yeah and then there's that Heaven place that we so easily forget about.

Don't be a desperado Christian. Realize what we have been given by God and live for Him. Don't draw that queen of diamonds, she'll beat you every time.

great points. i think the same thing about secular songs w/deeper meanings when i listen to the fray song "all at once". it says "we'd never know what's wrong without the pain/sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same." i'm pretty sure the song is talking about relationships but that statement is applicable to much more.

Just kiddin.....fun times happenin, a good semi-relaxed start to summer.

Well, well where to begin in this update. Uh had a Grad Party two weeks ago...wow did I get alot of money/presents. Thanks to all. You'll be getting a thank you note shortly. NO MORE HIGH SCHOOL....I'm not happy about it at all can't ya tell. Next up in my educational escapades I will be moving on to UAB. Go Blazers! Yeah my true colors will never be green & gold, sorry. But I'm excited. I'm sure I'll join all the other graduates in a poignant post closer to the time that I leave the ole' homestead. I had a good time w/ everybody over Memorial Day weekend. Went to Cullman w/ Ms. Cleo & Company to a singing, much fun had.

Other random headlines...camp's in a couple of weeks; I started my job today; Lizards have come out of hibernation...in full force; I don't know about anybody else but I've been watchin the NBA finals a good bit and I have thouroughly enjoyed it; 1 Cor. 11 this Thursday(big event for anyone in the Huntsville area); uh that's all. I'm going home.

1 Cor. 11...sighness, I feel like the church on that one...divided.

In other enterntaiment news...

Deal or No Deal - I watched this for the first time last night. I think that is the dumbest show since the creation of the Universe. I will say that I was told that the one I watched wasn't as good as others. No matter, the guy who won the money last night was absolutely homostinkinsexual. I mean BK could've flame broiled a Whopper on this guy. Altho he was sure enjoying running up and being all upons the skan...I mean girls who open the cases. Anyhow maybe that was a bad episode and it's really the best show EVER but I was very unimpressed.

24/American Idol - FOX is my favorite network(next to ESPN).

PTI - For the non-sports fans you're missing out bigtime.

I'd just like to let the general public know that getting up at 4:00 AM (that's in the morning time, when it's still dark boys and girls) is rough and I admire those who do it. Not my cup o'tea. School's almost over and I'm kinda getting excited, I've been ready for summer since school started. Even tho I'm pumped it is kinda bizzaro that this is it as far as high school goes. Congrats to all other senior people on here. If I started linking I'd miss somebody plus I'm too tired to mess with that right now. Next up for some is 6 Flags this Friday, tons of fun to be had. Oh and graduation of the Agricultural & Mechanical students of Alabama this Thursday. Yeah it's gonna be of the hizzile forizzle my nizzle. Yeah
