Aggieland: Sophomore Edition :)
Whew sorry it's been SO long since I've last posted! I really do promise I check this about once a week, I just have trouble finding time to post. Ok, and maybe I was procrastinating a little... :)
So this summer: to sum it up, incredibly blessed. :) I was able to get two classes out of the way at a local community college, was so thankful to find a summer job at a Japanese restaurant as a hostess, traveled on road trips with friends, got to see and grow closer to friends that live far away, had some wonderful time with my beautiful family, ate HOMECOOKED meals, had an absolutely wonderful girls bible study with mom, Sarah, and a friend in Dallas (we skyped her in- how cool is that?!) over Ruth, spent many wonderful nights relaxing at Barnes and Noble, got to hang out with my wonderful siblings and go on crazy late night sonic runs, was able to attend the weddings of dear friends, got to be a part of a Wednesday night class my Dad taught on 1 and 2 Thessalonians, grew closer to the young people in Tyler, and so much more. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I think that about summed up my summer. It was truly one of the best summers I think I've ever had.
Really the only bad thing that happened over the summer was unfortunately, I was involved in a car accident along with Sarah close to the end of the summer- and we're both perfectly okay. I don't think I can even begin to describe how thankful I was and still am that our only injuries were some minor bruises and burns, nothing severe at all in what could have been a potentially dangerous wreck- my car was totaled, with basically the front end of my car gone. Thankfully I didn't get the ticket since it wasn't my fault, and the guy that I ran into's insurance paid for my car, so I was able to get another one. I truly think God was watching over us that day, and I don't think I will ever take safe trips on the road, no matter how small, for granted anymore.
Also this summer I officially changed my major to Allied Health!! I am absolutely ecstatic about it, so far I completely love this major! The course load is, so far, so much lighter than Chemistry was, and I have much more free time this semester and the courses I'm in are a lot easier- I'm just taking music, psychology, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and race, ethnicity, and health. I'll start more difficult classes next semester when I have to take Anatomy and Physiology I, and Statistics, but for now I'm really enjoying the easier classes I'm in. I'm taking 15 hours, but 2 of the classes are online, which means.. I only have class on Tuesday and Thursday!! I absolutely love my schedule, it's super nice to be able to sleep in a little bit on some days of the week and go running in the mornings.
I've gotten to babysit the Gobles, 4 kids, on Monday afternoons, and I absolutely love it!! They are the sweetest kids, and I have loved getting to know them a little better this semester!! Going along with that, I've been able to help teach the 3-4 year old class on Sunday mornings, and I love it! There are only 3 kids in there, but they're all super sweet, well-behaved, and super eager to learn. :) And next semester I get to teach 5-6 y/o class with Sarah! Can't wait for that. :)
This year the girls' Thursday night class is studying 1 Peter for the full year, and so far I'm loving it!! We're taking our time going through it, and after 5 weeks we're in verse 9 of chapter 1- it's so nice to be able to take our time and go through it slowly and extensively. I've loved getting to know the new freshman and transfer girls this year- we have about 30 that regularly attend, and I've felt so blessed to know such wonderful girls this semester! They are all such a great encouragement to me.
We’ve had 2 fairly recent gospel meetings here so far. The first one was with Mark Roberts at Twin City, over various topics, and it was excellent! So encouraging. In one of my favorite lessons he talked a lot about how God sometimes works slowly but deliberately- His timing isn’t always our timing, or how we think things should be going, if that makes sense. The second was with Hal Hammonds at Benchley, over “Living in Fear”- things we can be afraid of. I wasn’t able to attend all of them, but all of the lessons that I heard from him were really good as well!
I can't believe that now I'm no longer a teenager!! 20!! That sounds SO old to me. Weird.
Taking nutrition has been a real eye-opener this semester... I eat super unhealthy. So I've been trying to work on that a little bit, and I think it's gotten a little bit better so far.. I've cut dino nuggets out of my diet for sure. ;)
Looking forward to next weekend when we’re going back home to see our little brother (who’s not so little anymore) march at the senior night football game, and then his marching contest that Saturday! Super proud of him :)
Recently I’ve been getting back into my coffee addiction, so I should probably tone that down a bit. It’s just so difficult when Muldoons is 5 minutes away from home and their coffee is just so good.. :)
This week I was finally able to upgrade my phone… and got an iPhone!! I was a little hesitant at first but so far I’m loving it, and definitely think it was worth the money I spent on it. I’m still a little slow on the texting, but other than that it’s perfect :)
I feel like there’s so much more I’m forgetting that I should include in this, but I think that’s all I have for now. Basically… I’m loving my sophomore year at A&M, maybe more than my freshman year. I still feel incredibly blessed to be here and if I could do it all over again, would still choose to go to A&M, hands down. :)
Hope everyone is having a wonderful and blessed year, I love you all!!

It really seems odd to me reading about you taking 7 classes. Particularly since I'm taking a grand total of... 1. Though, if I had had my way, it would have been 2, but the class scheduling didn't work out very well. And I'm on a quarter system instead of a semester. I've never taken more than 3 classes at once.
It is nice that I don't have much pressure with class work. However, I'm not enjoying the class (College Chemistry.) much, since it's mainly a refresher for me in the chemistry realm, and far below my level of math. There have been a few times that the teacher's put a slide up with a couple questions on there, and while he's still going through the first I've gotten them both done, and I've been sorely tempted to just blurt out the answer to the second once he reads the question. I've been curbing my impulse to answer questions so others who aren't so adept in the math and science fields can have the practice. So I've generally kept myself about a chapter ahead, reading the textbook in class.
I LOVE YOU!
