I'm so proud of myself. Sitting in the kitchen are 12 pints of freshly canned green beans from our very own garden. And I only had to call Mom twice for tips!
Also, I'm finally declaring myself healthy again. All last week I just wasn't feeling good and basically laid around a lot. Have you ever tried to fold a fitted sheet while keeping your head as still as possible? They're bad enough regularly. Anyway, tomorrow is business as usual, no more excuses.
One small failure: I can't remember how to post a picture, which was actually my intention in the first place. Can someone remind me how, please?
And to all of you who actually read this, thanks for not giving up on me! :-)

My dear sister has been picking on me about never keeping up with anyone (among other things), so I thought I'd let everyone know that I'm still alive. For now - the end of the semester may kill me. It's about that time that everything I've put off is going to start catching up with me.
So, I guess some of you want to know what I've been up to. It seems like all I do is schoolwork and housework! Usually my biggest complaint is grading papers. To pay for my Master's degree, I've got a graduate assistanceship that has me teaching introductory biology labs. I'm always impressed by some of the... well, *creative* answers that I get!
I've been enjoying the springtime! The birds are singing, the flowers are blooming - and of course I'm trying to identify them all! :-) I've probably gotten some strange looks while stalking birds on campus or at the park, but I guess that's life.
Anyway, there's a sink full of dishes waiting for me. I finally learned how to keep track of my email - maybe next I'll learn how to keep track of Pleonast. No guarantees.
Wishing everyone the best!

Sorry it's been so long. I know y'all are used to me.
Anyway, all is well. I graduate on May 13 (or whatever that Saturday is) and I'm getting married on June 9!! In the meantime, I'm just trying to keep my head above water.
Since next week is spring break, I got to run up to WV to see my fiance (who is now a full time preacher, for anyone who didn't get that memo). And wonderful sweet Cara is letting me stay with her. So when she heard how long it's been since I posted, she pushed her laptop at me.
Little tip - never change time zones on the same weekend that daylight savings time begins! It's bad enough losing one hour, but I've effectively lost two. Not to mention a 5 hour drive yesterday, a 5 1/2 hr drive tomorrow when Chad and I go for marriage counseling, with David Brewer, who will be handling our wedding ceremony (not because there are problems, but for Mr. Brewer's peace of mine and huge deduction on the marriage license), a 5 1/2 hr drive back Monday, and a 6+ hr drive to my parents house Tuesday. Help me!! I must have lost my marbles to agree to this!! Oh, well, I'm glad I'm up here.
I'm going to get off now and let Cara have her computer back. Bye, everyone!

Chad took me up to Mammoth Cave for a picnic. He let me go look at the river while he set up the blanket. We enjoyed the picnic he packed while watching the fearless Mammoth Cave deer. After he cleaned up, he looked over at the base of a tree and said, "What's that?" So I went over and saw a little stuffed squirrel, and wondered what little kid had left their toy in the middle of the woods. Chad suggested I look at it, so I picked it up and Chad said, "What's he holding?" I pulled out a real acorn from between its paws and saw the cap had been cut off, and there was a wad of tissue inside it. That's when I (finally!) figured out there was a ring inside it, held by the squirrel Chad planted after he sent me down to the river. He got down on one knee and asked if I'd marry him!!! I said something like "Y(sob)e(sob)s(sob)!"
I've been showing off for a couple of days now, and don't intend to stop all that soon. I would have posted earlier, but I wanted to show a couple people (Kristi) in person.
And just as soon as I figure out how, I'll put up some pictures!

So, I've finally been harassed enough that I decided to update my blog. I've got the paramedics on standby in case someone has a heart attack from this. And no, this does not mean you can expect a new entry every week, but I will see if I can do better than once a semester.
So, this summer I stayed in Bowling Green to work for one of my biology professors, studying photosynthesis in American chestnuts and bird use of various types of fields at a biopreserve. I know you're all jealous. The really cool thing is Dr. Meier put me as a co-author on a paper! I'm getting published!
In other news, as most of you know because my sister actually UPDATES her blog, I totalled my first car this summer. But the Lord really blessed me, because no one was hurt and the insurance money more than covered a replacement car. In the meantime, I even had a friend let me borrow his car!
Now I'm back in classes, including mammology and organic chemistry. So far, I think I can survive organic, but I'm not sure what I think about this whole "study" idea. Oh, well.
Oh, and for those who are wondering, Chad and I are doing fine. I'm actually learning how to cook - and it's working!
So that's my life in a nutshell. Maybe I'll even check everyone's comments!
