I got to go to the OR!

Thanks to everyone who commented, called, sent cards, or visited when Nanny died. It means so much!
Can't believe how fast time flies now! It's almost Thanksgiving and I'm half way through my rotations!! I do stay busy these days though!
*Since my earlier post, I've had two rotations in pediatrics. I abosolutely loved both!! I'm really hoping to get a pediatric focused residency next year so I can be a clinical specialist. It means another year of hard work, but it will be worth it. :)
*In July I had the cardiology rotation. It was interesting as well. I had the opportunity to go see an open heart surgery, but I was scared with my history of dealing with blood that it wouldn't be such a great idea. I did get to go to the cath lab though, which was really interesting.
*Last month, I was at the hospital basically in general pharmacy. One day though, I got to go the OR to follow the pharmacist down there. She would find me a nurse anesthetist in a surgery, and I got to watch the surgery. I was pretty nervous about it, but I did pretty well. The first surgery I did have a litle trouble, but the other two went fine. I got to see them fixing a little boy's broken arm and replacing a knee. The last surgery was a laproscopic surgery, and they were tying the stomach around the esophagus because the patient had treatment resistant refulx. It was a very exciting day, and I was very excited that I got to do it. Now I wish I had attempted the open heart surgery!! Of course, I probably would have passed out in that one first, too.
*This month I'm at the UAB clinc. I like it so far. I like getting to interact with the patient more. Other than all this, I'm getting all my presentations done and preparing to apply for residencies. I got one of my BIG presentations out of the way, and I have a few more smaller ones and my poster at the end. I'll graduate May 6th!!!! Can't believe it's almost here!
*Jonathan is going to school and keeping some money coming in by working at Walgreens. He was at a horrible store but recently got transferred, so it is much better...for both of us! ;)
*Other than that, we're just trying to enjoy being up here. I'm off in December, so we're going with the parents for few days to Gatlinburg. Really looking forward to seeing the lights up there!! We were able to go to the Montgomery wedding. REALLY loved getting to see everyone again!!
*I chopped off my hair...again. May leave it like this for a while....it's amazing how much lighter it feels. Maybe I'll get a pic up one of these days.
*Guess that's mostly what we're up to...spending time with family and friends when we can and staying busy!
Hope everyone is doing well!

Who's your best "girl" friend on Pleo? Or at least your top five? I've figured up a way to show them you appreciate them this holiday season! Check out my blog!
