I never update anymore. Most of my life is spent on Facebook, actually....which is totally sad.
I can't really think of anything to update about.
OH, I did buy my plane ticket for NYC yesterday. It should be a blast with these
folks. We'll be there for Labor day. I'll actually be there Thursday - Monday. Nice, LONG weekend of NO work. Today, miklm is working in the yard. I am working in the house. Meagan is bringing us a dryer, which is exciting. Ours works, but only on the super high setting. Its old. Oh well.
I'm really looking forward to being able to remodel the house. We started re-doing the downstairs room/bathroom --- but, then my dad broke his back -- so, that went down the drain. OH! We got a cat. Pixie. Greatest pet ever, other than Sparky and Harley. She is MUCH more awesome than Max, mikm's dog.
stream of consciousness is a great thing, right?
Remember how I was so excited about being part time at work? I start back full time tomorrow. I had a co-worker who really wanted to go part-time. When he asked our boss, our boss said NO. This got me thinking -- I dont really have a serious NEED to be part time. I work part time because I was given that opportunity by another boss I had. So -- I did the good Samaritan thing. (i hope). I offered to give up my part-time position so that my friend would be able to work part time. I feel like its a win-win for both of us. I'm actually really happy about this because I realize that I am truly obsessed with my job most of the time. Work Work Work. But, its good for me I think.
I began a project today and ended it today. That's a big deal for me considering I'm usually the type to start something and never finish it. I have a lovely shoe collection and I really wasn't storing them properly. So, Michael and I went on a date last night to Lowe's -- bought some shelving units for my closet -- and today I started putting them together. In about 3 hours, I had put them together, cleaned out my closet, decided what shoes to keep and which to give to Good-Will & enjoyed every second of it. All total, I am donating about 9 pair of shoes -- and I am still left with about 40. I am truly blessed. I have a passion for footwear.
We are going skiing in 11 days. I'm really excited. Michael really isn't. He thinks he is going to died...or, break his leg. Both are possible -- lets just pray that doesn't happen.
I have no new news to update you on.
My life as a part time worker is uneventful.
and that makes it wonderful.
My first ever "tacky" Christmas party tomorrow.
Except...I haven't really done anything today.
I will say --- i've come down with a cold/nasty stuff.
I began working part time last week. It is SO AWESOME. I work 8:30 - 12:30 every day. Then, i come home and i do Merritt-Pop things.
Then...i just hang out with Michael. I'm very happy to be able to do this at this point in my life. Its a much needed change from the 60+ hours a week that I was working before. And now! I'm actually HOME....and not in...Missouri.
I put up our christmas tree last week. I was so excited b/c i didn't think miklm was going to let me get a tree --- and then he bought me one. Good boy!
I'm watching a british TV show right now called QI. Did you know that apples float...but pears sink? I guess i knew that apples float because of bobbing for apples. But, never thought about pears. Interesting.
Michael and I are really trying to get the word out about Merritt-Pop. Perhaps you have seen our page/group on Facebook? Don't forget that most everyone loves popcorn...especially gourmet popcorn. So, if you like popcorn -- or someone else you know likes popcorn. GIVE IT TO EM! (you can use our discount code: facebook10 to get 10% off if you want). www.merrittpop.com
I'm sitting at my desk wearing my new columbia fleece that i got last night. I love it. and i'm wearing my hood.
You know what is really interesting? (besides the face that pears sink in water).... Police scanners.
That's all, folks.
