The Great Pleonast Panic of 2005

Man! I can't believe how many of you fell for this ... don't you know to trust no one on 1 April? :)

Anyway, sorry to those who were unduly upset by this ... I hope you can appreciate the humour someday :)

Here are a few of the (105 and counting) classic emails that I've received today:
  • "hmmmmmmm, it's April Fools today---are you joking? And if you aren't...consider this hate hate hate hateeeeeee mail."
  • "...and if this is some sort of an april fools joke, its
    not the slightest bit amusing."
  • "Had a heart attack for a second until I remembered what day it is."
  • "haha You about got me there...April Fool's Day. That is the best April Fool's joke I've seen. Have a nice day!"
  • "you can rest soundly tonight knowing that litle
    pleophiles everywhere probably had a heart attack. i
    know of several people who have a... perhaps a limited
    sense of humor that got pretty scared.

    i won't spoil your joke until tomorrow. i'm just
    telling them that it really must take alot of time and
    effort to keep that thing going and you have work to
    do.

  • "You got me. I actually looked at the source to see if you put a time
    stamp on when you shut it down. Good one.."

    I remember the first time you mentioned Audiogalaxy to me, and I thought nothing of it and didn't even bother to check it out for about six months. When I finally got around to looking at it, I was blown away.

    Then you told me of something you had just created called pleonast, and advise me to check it out and let you know what I think. Again, I brushed off your advice and ignored your request for some time, until I finally got around to looking at it. I was again blown away at it's coolness.

    Thank you for spending the immense amount of time, effort, and personal expense to make pleonast what it came to be.

    Although I am sad to see it go, I understand that you have to do what you think is best, and pleonast was your baby. If anyone wanted it to work, it must have been you.

    I tend to open my mouth a little too wide and speak my mind when I shouldn't, so I hope none of my comments and entries caused you grief. To my knowledge, this isn't the case.

    It was by far one of the best designed web sites and easily the best blog that I have come across, both due to it's clean lines and ease of use.

    Again, thank you. The next time you tell me of something that you are up to, I will not hesitate to check it out. Your track record is fairly good.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. I'm still amazed at how seriously some people take this site ... I just can't believe it! Thanks for all of you loyal users, though, and I hope to keep pleonast going for as long as possible.

Thank you especially for the many emails of encouragement I've gotten today thanking me for doing this - it really motivates me even more to continue the site.

I'll have to be REALLY devious next year :) muhahahahahaha

    I'm one of the no-fun non-gullible types that knew it was a joke from the start. No, I swear I did, I opened up the page, read it, and then immediately laughed. However I have been kept from my blog all day because I somehow missed the invisible text. Oh well. I'll trade gullible for stupid any day.
