SPRING IS COMING--AT LEAST I THINK SO!!

It has been such a weird winter! I've been cold since November. The snows that we have had are beautiful! Reminds me of my growing up days in Colorado, but there was snow on the ground from Sept. to May! Our snows now pretty much melt the next day, but it is staying pretty cold. That's Texas for you.
Had a great WOW weekend last week. So uplifting to see all these Christian women wanting to be together. Also, just finished a great gospel meeting with Tony Mauck. We had some ok numbers, but the all that came got some great lessons from God's Word.

Stay warm, and I really think spring is coming! I'm ready to get warm again!

I am ready for spring! The snow was awesome, but now that it's gone, I'm ready for some warmth.

Just to hear you say you've been cold since November is funny. I've been amazed at how many times you've been cold and me not: quite a change from most of our 25 years!

I know what you mean!!!! It will be at least another month though before we start having some warmer days. My sister lives in the Seattle area. They have had no snow this year, which is very uncommon! Guess they got skipped and you got it all! Miss you all!

Actually, I never stopped. I just kept driving and pulled into the driveway just before 1 a.m. Pretty peaceful drive actually. Sure enjoyed the week and getting to know all of you!

This is a busy time, lots to do, lots of places to go, and more than anything, lots of food to eat! But, we love it around here. Parties galore, which have already started having 3 this weekend. Then next Sunday pm, the annual Kirby party, which is bunches of fun and laughs. After school is out, we are headed to Denver for vacation (with a stop in Lubbock to see the O'Banions), and so excited to get out of town for a bit. It has been snowing and cold there, but it is DECEMBER! Our tree and lights are up (thanks to Josh) and the house is decorated. Come on over! You better watch out...better not cry...you know the rest!

You better not pout....I'm telling you why THE BEST FAMILY IN TEXAS IS COMING TO TOWN!!!! (and a part of Florida)

Since we have 100+ trees, there are leaves everywhere! Lots of reminders of fall and what lies ahead with the holidays--which I love! I try to take a second and look around to see what all I'm thankful for, but a second certainly isn't enough to even start. I'm thankful for the beauty of fall, really thankful for 3 days off at Thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas as we are headed to Denver to be with our 3 kids and my family!

It will be busy, but take a second or two!

The next few days are to be sunny and nice-YEAH! It is about time. We sure needed the rain, but it will be SO nice to get some of that Vitamin A (sunshine for those who aren't into vitamins!).

Amanda is leaving for Florida on Thursday to see the big campus of Florida College. I remember my first day there, (way back in the dark ages), the A/C was out in A Dorm and this Colorado girl was dying! It has really changed since then. Amanda is so excited to see the campus, the choir room and her good friends, especially Haley!

I go to a conference in Dallas this next week. The following week, starting Oct. 25, we start a gospel meeting with Terry Slack. Looking forward to hearing a week of God's word. Sure hope you can come!

Got any big plans during the fall time other than work or go to school? Me neither, but I love this fall weather-when it finally gets here!

The difference between A dorm of the 70's and the condos that the girls have now is unbelieveable. They have an exercise room! We used to get our exercise going up and down the stairs to 3rd floor! Of course, they have elevators now :)

i texted chad back and forth for a while on friday and encouraged him to worship in altamonte springs which is actually a little closer to orlando; then i got in touch with my brother who actually worships at that congregation there; he is going to hook him up with another couple or two who also live in daytona and make the drive to worship in altamonte! whooop!

We all have people in our lives that have made a tremendous impact on us. There was a wonderful lady in my life as a young girl in Denver, that I looked up to more than anyone else. She was there for my family during good and bad times. She knew the Bible and lived her life like a Christian should. She would stand at the back of the church building after services and no one left without her giving you a hug and asking if there is anything she could do for you. All of us kids knew exactly where the Oreo cookies were, as soon as we went into the house. I had "my" bedroom at their house, and spent the night there at times. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up and had a family.
She passed away last night. I know she is in a much better place as her health has been bad for several years but it is hard knowing that she is gone. I will hang on to her memories and am so thankful that God placed her in my life. I can see her smile, hear her laughter, and feel her hug.
Her favorite song was Peace Perfect Peace. She certainly is in peace now.

A reminder to us all, that we are influences on those around us. I will never live up to who she was, but I'll strive to be better. Heaven is full of such wonderful Christians, I don't want to miss it, and don't want you to miss it either.

I have similar memories in my childhood! There are not many of those special people in this world that touch our lives as a young person. I hope that we can give other young people a similar memory of us. Great memories!
