Consider yourselves invited.
(Regarding the previous entry: I'm well into the top 10% of entries, but I'm so far from #1 that I don't see any way of catching up. Thanks, though.)

Remember That College Visit I Spent On The Beach?
It could pay off. I've entered a scholarship using one of the pictures. (Yes, a different crop of the same picture on the left.)
If you want to vote, that would be cool, I guess.

What Do You Play For?

Lectures
On Hillsb'rough's stormy banks I stand
And cast a wishful eye
To Boswell's fair and happy land
Where my tuition lies

I think calling FC's dorms "fair" may be a stretch...
Scholarship Search
In the process of searching for scholarships, I have found myself to be utterly average and uninteresting. Just look at this survey on a scholarship site:

At first glance: the only one of these that describes me is "Animal/Pet Car Experience"? The only thing interesting about me is that I have a pet?
Look at this! "Duck Calling"? "Fat Acceptance"? I especially like how "Transgender" has two separate boxes to check (see second column third down and third column fourth down). I also found it almost comical (if it wasn't so sad) that both "Little People" and "Tall People" have categories. What about "Slightly Less Than Average Height People"? And what does "Google Scholarships" even mean?
So I start looking into this further: I'm adopted according to Ephesians 1:5 and others. And weren't we all affected by September 11th? I sure can't take shampoo on a plane now. Plus I have a friend born on that date; that should count. My parents were single at some point, right? And I've definitely served the community by paying taxes. (That's right - you can thank me for those nice new roads!) I call ducks "stupid" all the time, and I actively contribute pollution to the environment every day I drive somewhere. I accept that there are fat people. I Googled for scholarships for a good portion of the day today. I have a left hand. I'm very gay (read: HAPPY). I'm considered little compared to big people. I often use alcohol-based cough syrups to recover from colds. I might have been considered an immigrant had the South won the Civil War. I'm returning to Florida for college after receiving my elementary education there. I am socially active. At FC, most students study a broad range of topics. (See what I did there?) I'm considered tall when compared to little people. And, finally, I love playing with wheelchairs.
That qualifies me for just about everything. Free money, please?

Hmmmm, can't FC just GIVE you a list of scholarships available? I know both BSU and IVY Tech have lists available for scholarships that are managed right through the school. I KNOW you've got to be eligible for *something.* Academic achievement, perhaps? Is there a Sense of Humor award, or maybe one for Really Stand-Up Guys?
Honestly, most of the scholarships that Ash applied for by way of The Google Search really came up short. It was the ones she learned about through BSU that actually helped her.

btw, coldplay is pretty good.
And what is with all the weird colors?
And remember how we used to talk on AIM every day? And now I never ever get on? ha.
