The older i get the more i think about my childhood.
As a child i was always pinched in church when my mother saw me about the get out of line. Over the years i developed thicker skin during the church service. Its funny that i dont pinch my kids as much. I am what they call a thumper. The power and sting behind one flick of my finger usually corrects the ill-behaving young one pretty quick. After much though and reflection i am so glad that my mother never thumped me. She would have broken fingers for sure. My wife has developed the searing eye glance that could burn the skin of an aligator. We both keep a very close eye on our childrens behavior during service. My wife does more than me. I think it is a valuable approach for parents to do this. I am just glad that mother never went to school with me. I would be black and blue.
P.S. If you need any tips on thumping please let me know. I am a good teacher..

I guess everyone knows now that i am leaving Corpus and moving to the Valley. Corpus has been good to us and the church is wonderful. We have had great success here and will only have greater success in the valley. I am somewhat of a moving expert. I think since we have been married we have moved almost 15 times. This will hopefully be our last. My wife and kids are sick of moving and so am i. I can wait to get down there and see old friends and family.
If you are reading this you are invited to a moving event that will happen next friday and sat. YES THIS MEANS MY BROTHER AND FATHER.
