Fall

I'm so excited that fall is starting to show itself. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not so bold as to say that it is here for good. We could still have a few scorching days left this year, but I THINK the worst of summer is over. = ) And that makes me happy. I ran outside yesterday and it actually felt GOOD, as opposed to just feeling miserable. Maybe the cooler weather is where I could get a little bit of that motivation I've been looking for.

Bad things do come with fall though... And by that I mean allergies. Mine are in full force right now. It always starts off as congestion, but my AWEFUL sinuses lead it right into a sinus infection. That leads to a chest cold, which leads to a lost voice. So maybe sometime in the next two weeks I'll be back to normal, only to start back over when spring arrives. So sad that my two favorite seasons seem to be the times I physically feel the worst.

I'm excited for next week. Both my sisters and one of my brothers-in-law are planning on coming down a week from today. We're planning on running the Great Urban Race here in Dallas. It'll be SO much fun. Granted I have a lot to do before then, but it'll be well worth it.

Anyway, hope all is well with everyone.

I have the same problems in spring and especially fall. Fall is my favorite too but I can never breathe for about 2 months. Have fun with your sisters! Which BIL is coming?

Life is busy...

So I spent 5 days at my sister's house last week. It was great to spend the time with her and her boys. Then I came home a got right back to work. I worked 4 out of 5 days. Three of them in a row, so that was pretty tiring. Then I just could resist the draw of family. I'm in Wichita right now. = ) I worked Sunday so yesterday was my first day off in three days. I slept in and was pretty tired, but decided around 11 o'clock that since I didn't really have any plans for the next 4 days that I would make the drive up. The decision was helped along by the fact that my mom has my sister Lori's two kids here with her. I rarely get to see them, so want to spend as much time with them as I can. I'm loving it.

Here's a funny little story. My nephew Jonah is 2 1/2 and he's Lori's little boy. I spent a good majority of my time with him last week. Well this week at my mom's he can't remember the difference between the two of us and so he keeps calling her Aunt Stacy. = )

Hope everyone had a good extended weekend.

You know you're a Texan when...

You've decided 94 degree weather isn't too hot and it makes for an acceptable temperature to run outside.

So, here I go. Have a wonderful day, and say a little prayer for my dog that she doesn't have a heat stroke. = )

Isn't that the truth! It's crazy how 94 is a cool front :-) Hope you have a good jog :-)

i thought it felt good outside when my athletics class was getting ready to run a mile, and the first lap was comfortable but after that it was hot and sticky and miserable. good luck :) haha

I just finished my run on the treadmill - it seemed incredibly hot today and it was probably about 94 degrees! :) I ran 6 miles in 59:48 the other day - how about that?! Now just tack on another 7.1 miles and I will be there! Yikes. Hope Emma (and you) made it back without heat stroke.

So I drove with a couple friends down to the Klienwood singing yesterday. It was completely amazing! Just a small glimpse into what Heaven will be like. Although in Heaven, I doubt we'll feel like we've been packed in like sardines. = )

Anyway, we left yesterday around noon-ish. For the benefit of those that went with me, I put noon-ish because we had to stop by my house and pick up my phone. It was on our way, but this in turn made them blame me for being 15 minutes past our hoped for arrival time. No need to worry though, we still got a seat in the auditorium. We stopped at this little BBQ restaurant in some small town for lunch. Their bathroom stalls were ridiculously small. I had to sit sideways on the toilet to be able to shut the door! Really? This confuses me. I don't know who decided this was a good idea, but I think they would have been better to have a one room bathroom instead of going the stall route. The lady in front of me probably wishes this even more, since she was unable to shut the door. I accidentally opened up the door to find her perched on the throne. Poor lady, that probably wasn't what she had in mind as a little girl when she imagined being a queen on her throne. Oh well, life rarely turns out the way we imagine. Be careful what you wish for. = )

Anyway, the four of us (James, Jared, Rachel and I) had a great time. It was a lot of fun getting to know Jared better. I'm sure if you're really interested, you can see pictures that Jared will be placing on facebook in the near future. Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm generally a happy person, so showing any other side of myself to all but a few is next to impossible. That being said, I'm having a really hard time right now, so prayers would be appreciated.
