expedited review requests

i get them ALL the time. and here's a tip for those of you who make these requests or plan to make them in the future - have all of the required information packaged and sent...then make the request. a tip from me to you.

And if I had even a clue what an expedited review request WAS, I would certainly make sure to have all required information to you in a timely manner. This does sound like a case of "Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency in my world."

won't you be my neighbor.

today is "sweater day" in honor of Mr. Rogers’ 80th birthday. so remember to share and think good thoughts today and be a good neighbor. wait, no, that's state farm. you get the idea.

Oh, now THAT brings back the memories! What a sweet good guy Mr. Roger was! There was a time when Will tried to talk me into having a train or streetcar "or SOMETHING, Mom!" that would drive around the house and deliver messages, like the one in Mr. Roger's house. He figured out where to lay the track and everything.

one word

there seems to be a trend for clever one word names for businesses around here. for example:

nest (furniture)
polish (mani/pedi)
shag (hair salon)
kickpleat (clothing)
sip (coffee house)
six (lance armstrong's bar - after winning TdF 6 times)
leaf (gourmet salads)

    Sip. Only in Austin.

Not sure if I could go to a hair salon that would give me a "shag"...maybe that's just me.

At least the gourmet salad place isn't called "bark" or "roughage" :)

Sip is actually in San Antonio on Houston Street; I go to SA quite a bit for work. Found a new one...LIFT...the sign is up on an unfinished commercial space on the street level of a residential high-rise. I'm assuming it will be a fitness club. Or maybe a cosmetic surgery clinic. I'm hoping for the fitness club. And I had fun with Lois, too!

There's a business I pass on my way to the place that cuts my hair -- it's called KISS. I'm 'afeared' to go in there; can't figure out what it sells! Ha!

mourning

was listening to this on the way to work and it made me think of E and L.

God's given us years of happiness here
Now we must part
And as the angels come and call for you
The pains of grief tug at my heart

Oh my darling
My darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey

Oh the days will be empty
The nights so long without you my love
And when God calls for you I'm left alone
But we will meet in heaven above

Oh my darling
My darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey

Fond memories I'll keep of happy ways
That on earth we trod
And when I come we will walk hand in hand
As one in heaven in the family of God

Oh my darling
My darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey

But did you teach her while she was in the baby Bible class? These people getting married and having babies that I remember feeding cheerios to while singing God Created -- it's just not right!

Did you know my children have teachers at school who could have been MY kids? And I'm not talking "getting pregnant at fifteen" -- I'm talking they could have been my kids! Oh well, at least while they've occasionally mistaken David as being their grandfather, SO far I've been known as Mom, not Grandma. There is some balm in Gilead......
