YES! I finally got a job. I "real" job. I starting my career that I went to school for job. :)
I am the new music teacher at Parkview Elementary and Arlington Elementary in Jackson-Madison Co Tennessee!!
I started January 16 and have not a more than 2 days in a row because of holidays and snow days, its been really crazy but over-all I LOVE it!
The move back home to Jackson from Bowling Green was very rushed and very sad. but I am living with my parents now and that has also been very enjoyable. I can now fully appreciate the large bed room, full bathroom all to myself and the quiet evenings at home. Not to mention the steady pay-check, home cooked meals, most of my weekends off, oh and did I mention my parents are amazing!! :)
and I get to do what I've always wanted to do!!!
I do miss all my amazing friends and family in Kentucky very much. Please know I am thinking about all of you and praying for you constantly! I love
you!!
God is very good to me. I just had to learn to wait, Now I just gotta apply this lesson to all areas of my life and continue to be thankful for His amazing grace!

I was trying not to update until I had some really good exciting news about a job, but I don't think that is gonna happen anytime soon. I do; however, have a new niece!! and that is pretty exciting!! :)
Samiah (Sammie) Ruth Benson was born Sept. 1, 2010. 7 lbs 14 oz. She is doing wonderfully well and so are Sarah and Chris. :)
If someone would let me know how to load pictures I might be able to put a few on here.
In other news not much has changed. I still in Bowling Green (which I love) and working at Old Navy nights and weekends, while I substitute teach in Warren Co. and have a few piano students. It really does keep me very busy, which is a welcome change from the summer hours, but it also wears me out sometimes.
I am very blessed and now I get to experience fall weather I am pretty happy! (even if the allergies have to come with it)

I just got home from my first 'big girl' interview. It was for a middle school music position in Edmonson Co. Middle School.
I think the interview went very well. The principal and two other teachers asked me a lot of questions and I think I at least had a decent answer for all of them (a few are questionable, but...)
This is making me very excited and nervous. I really do think this would be a good place for me to start teaching. It would be a lot of work......
-Its a small community about 30 minutes from Bowling Green.... only 2 elementary schools, 1 middle school (315 students), and one high school
-I could possible be in charge of starting a choir program because one doesn't really exist at the moment ;)
-Other responsibilities would be raising funds for the music program and also assisting with the Drama Club
-It is a general music class for 7th and 8th grade with emphasis on humanities (Art, Dance, Drama and Music)
The principal is going to call me Monday to let me know one way or another. I'll let you know when I know....

Allie ;)

Back at square one :(

Made it back to Bowling Green safe and sound....
Our trip was amazing!! Very fun and enjoyable. We got to see a lot of things and a lot of people that I've always wanted to see :)
My favorite was the Grand Cannon. It is the most beautiful place I've ever seen :)
Only two disappointments, We could not see Mt. Rushmore because the fog on the mountain was very, very thick. We could hardly see anything that day. Also, we went to the City Museum in St. Louis which we were excited about, until we got there and it was not what we expected. One of those things that would have been very cool if I was 5 years younger!
Only other problems involved FREEZING in Yellowstone, temps dropped to below 20 degrees, and I got kinda tired of driving....
Everyone got along great the whole time, I LOVED seeing parts of the country I've never seen before, no car problems, did not spend as much money as I thought we would, got to meet a lot of new people, got to catch up with old friends and get to know some new ones really well!
Also went to the Bad Lands, Cody WY, stepped into Montana, Los Vegas (also one of my least favorites), Hoover Dam (very cool), St. Louis Zoo (for free) Kansas City (the most fountains in any one city except for Rome, Italy), Albuquerque, a lot of snow cover mountains, a frozen lake, the Grand Tetons Mountains, a lot of dessert, very flat and green prairies, The Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak from a distance, animals include: a LOT of Buffalo, Antelope, a black bear, a moose, and some think we saw two grizzly's eating a buffalo ;)
I have enough stories to last for two months! :)
It was a wonderful trip that I am very glad I went on!!
Thanks!
Allison :)
