I'm still plugging along at the exercising, but the walking-daily-with-no-excuse fell by the wayside for one reason or another. OOOOH. That sounds lame. :( But I have done SOMETHING almost daily for the last two weeks. With the muscle loss in my lower legs, there are other types of workouts/exercises I need to concentrate on before pounding the pavement everyday; but pounding the pavement is still my goal.
This morning I worked out on the Gazelle for about 30 minutes...accompanied by...
The Sons of Pioneers..."Drifting along with the tumble-ing tumbleweed!" Gene has a CD and it made a great accompaniment for gazellin'.
I learned (re-learned!) the demise of Jesse James and Billy the Kid. And poor ole' Kalija; that poor old wooden head! Someone bought his sweetheart! :( I never knew the actual truth about that love-lorn totem-pole because I grew up with the Homer and Jethro version. Anyone remember them? (By the way, all
three of
us siblings think the other one ended up with that album. Hmmm)
And then there was "Cool, Clear Water" which came when I needed it most...at the end!
Enjoy the day! Ours looks to be sunny and cool.

...must have been a Bluetooth, but the lady in Palais Royal today looked to me like she was talking to herself. Loudly, and authoritatively, while often making eye contact with me. Was she worried that I thought she looked silly?
Well, she was right.

Aren't you glad that the time change happens on the Lord's Day? If it's got to happen, I'm glad it's on a day when we are used to getting in gear anyway for things that transcend time and concerns of this earthly life.
Okay...go ahead; call me Pollyanna. I don't mind. That's the road I choose to take!
We have one member who I don't think would agree with me. She arrived in time for worship and wondered why EVERYONE was settling in the auditorium. She told me afterward that she thought we'd made a change and weren't having Bible Class anymore and was quite disturbed, until she happened to take a look at the clock on her cell phone and then...she felt very small. Do you have any time change *woops* stories?
Our attendance was low yesterday as many were out of town with spring break beginning. But we did have one family visiting with us, former members, whose son, Luke, used to be one of my students. Luke is such a special young man - Gene describes him as one "in whom is no guile". So tender, honest and pure in heart. He looked like he had grown 6 inches in this last year since they have been gone, and I commented on that. He said, "Yes, I have been burning a lot of calories. (nose scrunched) Is that what happens when you burn calories?" I love that boy. We miss him and his whole family!
The cabinet idea in my classroom seems to be working well. The students come in anticipating a part in the lesson. Samantha's "job" yesterday was to pretend she was Moses and to speak to the rest of the class the words of Moses at the end of his first speech in Deuteronomy. I told her to listen to me read the 2 verses and then put in her own words what Moses said (The Lord Himself is God; keep His commandments; teach them to your children; you will live long). I failed to take into consideration that Samantha is our thorough, don't-leave-anything-out student, so this sort of messed with her brain. When she finally got started, she was very shy and weak about it. After a few proddings, she finally shouted out, "The Lord is God; Keep His commandments!" and so forth, with some whispered hints from me. My first thought is that I shouldn't give her those type assignments, but then again, we won't grow "all nice and rounded" if we're not pushed out of our comfort zones and made to think outside the box. My goal is to help them put the lesson in their own words. Accurately, of course.
The cabinet idea is also testing the others who want to steal the answers from the child-of-the-moment. Of course, we all have that issue with the children now and then, don't we? But this creates an obvious "this is their job" and "you are out of line". So everyone is learning better cooperation skills.
I appreciated your comments below when I posted about this idea. If it got your juices flowing for your own situations, I'm thrilled. I enjoy hearing of the things that you try.
Well, my friends, make it a good day!

Time to get out, sweep out the garage, and do some yard work.
Have a great day!
