I was trying to take a short nap today when I kept hearing this loud bang over and over. The breaks in between the bangs were just long enough to convince me they had stopped.
Soooo annoying. Mallory was playing in the playroom, so I shouted at her to stop doing whatever it was that was making that sound. She shouted back at me in this really distressed voice,
"It's not me, Mommy! It's a bird!"
"You've got to be kidding me", I thought, "That girl has some imagination. Unless it's a woodpecker pecking on one of our windows, there's no way a bird is making that sound." When the noise wouldn't stop, I got up to investigate.
Sure enough, it was a bird.
A beautiful blue bird was flying into our living room window over and over again. He would just slam his beak into the glass and then fly away. One minute later he'd do the exact same thing again. What is wrong with that bird? If he wasn't already messed up in the head before, he's bound to be now. It went on for about an hour. It was a pretty crazy sight, not to mention noisy. He hasn't been back since, so I'm hoping he moved on to bigger and better windows. Poor bird.
duhDid it really require a formal scientific study to come this conclusion?

This is just to say have a happy day:)
Yes, we play with food at our house.
Once, a strong wind caused a door to SLAM shut on two of my fingers that were still happily resting on the door frame. The loud noise that the door made combined with the expression on my face led Jeremy to think I had been shot. I'm not kidding. It took my breath away, so I couldn't even tell him what HAD happened for several minutes.
That was painful.
Once, I had a double ear infection that couldn't be treated with any powerful medicines because I was pregnant. I couldn't even move my head without wanting to cry. It lasted a week.
Very painful.
I went through 20 hours of labor with Mallory, including two hours of solid pushing. Then, they said they were going to cut me open.
EXTREMELY PAINFUL.
Today, I had my both of my legs waxed for the first time. I'll just let you guess which category this goes in.
We went hunting for bluebonnets just hours before the cold storm rolled in. So glad we did :) 93 pictures later and I still didn't get a "great" one of just Mal and Will together. So, I think we might head out again this weekend to try again if the weather is nice. I also want to try and find some patches that have lots of different flowers bunched together. It's just too much fun to play in God's rainbow of wildflowers and marvel at His beauty. Each petal, each leaf, each gorgeous color is His handiwork. While I crave getting a classic photo each year what I love more is studying the beauty and majesty of it all. What I love more than that is sharing it with my kids. I want to teach them from a very young age to see God in the world they live in. I want them to recognize His power in the little things such as bright blue flowers. Can you tell that I LOVE this time of year?!
