Rock, Rock Till You Drop

Well, it's been about 3 months since I posted, so here goes. I was in Phoenix for nearly 2 weeks. My plane landed in Birmingham at about 4:30 on November 1, and at 7:30?? That's right, Journey & Def Leppard! I haven't been to many concerts, but I must say this one was awesome. Journey played great, but they just aren't the same without Steve Perry. The new singer was okay, but the drummer sang "Open Arms" and "Faithfully", and in my opinion he was better than the actual lead singer. Even so, Def Leppard blew them away. They totally rocked. They played a lot of songs, and only 2 that I don't think are that good. However, their live sound was GREAT. I was expecting Joe Elliott's voice to be subpar, because I have heard some live recordings and he didn't sound so great. Anyway, Wednesday he sounded incredible. It was a great concert, and I urge anyone who has a chance to check it out. Rock on, everybody!

Wish I could have been there. As much as they rocked, though, they couldn't have rocked as hard as they could have had Steamin' been there. :(

I saw Journey about 2 1/2 years ago. Since that time, I guess they've gotten ANOTHER new vocalist, but the guy they had at the time, Steve Augeri, may as well have been Steve Perry's vocal twin. It was a really fun show.
