On July 28th at 11:55pm Emma Grace Phillips made her grand entrance. She was 8 lbs 12 oz, 22 ¼” long. What a beauty she is and a blessing from God

We had a wonderful home birth experience and she came out healthy and screaming. All went well with the birth of Emma, however Kristin had a pretty good size postpartum hemorrhage and lost quite a bit of blood. She also had a pretty good size tear. Due to the amount of blood and size of tear our midwife felt it was best that Kristin be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. While Kristin and I made our way to the hospital, our midwife finished up all of the measuring of the baby and Grandma and Grandpa brought her to the hospital to be with Mom and Daddy. We did have to spend about 5 hours or so in the hospital this morning, but we are now all safe and sound at home, bonding and resting together. Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Alyssa are here visiting and helping us adjust to the awesome responsibility of parent hood.

Pictures to come, but one thing I do have to say she gets the length from the Phillips and her feet… let’s just say she is her Daddy’s daughter -- she’s got rather large feet and hands. So for now I am going to go back to enjoying my beautiful daughter and the blessings that God has brought to our family.

But I thought it would be fun to keep in touch with everyone. Just to warn you now I am a terrible speller so bear with! It will all depend if my Dictionary is Home or not (that would be my wife).
