When a woman found to be immoral was brought before Jesus by the religious elitist of the day they accused, tore down, ridiculed, and sought justice for her misconduct. Jesus drew a line in the sand, asked who was without sin, and then told her to go her way and sin no more.

It was the religious elitist establishment who was rejecting Christ who acted with no compassion, no mercy, no grace. Christ extended those things. If we are wearing HIS name, ought we to act like HIM. Someone who has sinned--EVEN blatantly--who has asked for forgiveness and has gone their way sinning no longer--has received the grace and mercy of Christ. May we all quit asking our fellows to wear the SCARLETT letters of our piety. What letter should you be wearing? Show some compassion--may I be the first to hear this!

I do not believe Jesus was showing mercy and grace as much as he was showing the hypocricy of the accusers. The people who brought the woman were guilty of violating the same law they accused her of violating. She was caught in the act, a man involved. The man and the woman were to be stoned but they brought only the woman. However, I do get you point of church of Christ "penance" which does exist in our brotherhood.

It is noteworthy that Jesus' grace and mercy were shown before any "fruits of repentance" were shown. Too often we reserve our mercy for those who can "prove" that they have changed and "deserve it."

Steve brings up an interesting point: Can there be forgiveness without repentence? Numbers 14:11-20 does provide some insight.

There is no gnews like good gnews.

So life has worked itself up to a fantic fury:

1. Bought and launched an Uppercase Living business--if you are interested in adding some beautiful inspiration to your home--check out my website: http://saraj2009.uppercaseliving.net,

2. Started coaching two soccer teams at the Y. I will be coaching Molly on one team, Noah and Macy on another. Luckily we are all red! I also get to pick practice times, so they are the same night back to back!

3. Signed Noah and Macy up for the Swim team! They are so looking forward to competing!

4. Been searching for bargains for the house. Nate went and bought me 2 club chairs and ottoman for $7.00 from the Holiday Inn who is changing out their furniture--if you see any slip covers for sale--let me know! Almost had a $50 wicker set but was 2 minutes too late--argh!

5. Still homeschooling 4 kids.

6. Still trying to do a house remodel.

7. Still loving being Nate's wife.

8. About to leave on a 10 day tour of the Southern States.

8. Still teaching the cradle roll class at church.

That's what I have been up to! You?

I plan on buying a couple from you for my new house. There are so many of them to choose from! Sadly I had already bought one for our bathroom from kohls a couple of months ago before I knew you were doing this. I might not order until I move in. I'm still trying to decide where I want them at and where I have space.

I guess back in the first century a good number of Christians had to eat out a lot, especially those whose homes were used as meeting places for the church. After all, no eating of meals could ever be allowed in the meeting place.

Happy Birthday Macy!

It seems impossible I am writing yet another birthday tribute to Macy. This day seems to come swifter each year. I find myself watching Macy in this great internal debate she is having of whether she is a little girl or a young lady. Her "I am old enough independence" seems to be in conflict with her "I am still so small" moments making her a girl of layers which is a joy to watch. I am finding I am able to rely on her and her strong sense of responsibility. I find great joy in conversations with her as she slowly reveals in each talk who she is now and who she is working daily to become. To know her in this moment and to love her so completely I know will pale as each days passes. For to love her today is only small in the way I will love her tomorrow.

Happy Birthday my little pigeon. You are all joy for me. May your birthday be merry and may this new year be full of lessons learned, the happenings of many great adventures and for you my sweet girl a wardrobe of purses and shoes!

I love you--all my heart, all my life!

Ho Hum-yada yada

I have my five people to make things for. I am pretty stoked about making your gifts. I sent you a few questions to make sure I at least attempt to make you something you will enjoy! I am hoping to put this very fun creative outlet into my schedule starting next week!

It is absolutely amazingly gorgeous weather wise here...however my head is full of spring is upon us and I find myself full of congestion and yucky feelings. I am hoping that we just stay in Springtime mode so my head will adjust and I can breathe once again.

I watched Facing the Giants last night. A really good movie. I am insisting Noah watch it today. I thought it was interesting that God states 365 times in the Bible to "not be afraid." One dose of courage for every day of the year. God is so good. And so clever!

Macy almost killed Molly yesterday (flipped her over the couch and onto her head!) over a Vera Bradley calendar. I don't get Vera Bradley myself, but there is enough of her in my girls apparently for them to get really wrapped up in VB. Later Macy accidentally threw a gun that she was pretending was out of bullets and it hit Molly on the finger busting her cuticle and causing her to bleed. So the moral of the story is if your daughters are acting girly or tom-boyish--Macy will hurt Molly.

Children will not teach themselves--so I am off to do school.

Open your windows and let the fresh air in!

When my boys were in their teens, I was at work and came home to find some holes in the wall. After some interrogation I found that they had been throwing Chinese stars at one another and using a board to "duck" behind.

I came home once to find that my daughter had been stranded on the garage roof until she decided to jump. The boys talked her into going up there then took the ladder then told her she would be in trouble for going up there if she told.
