Checking in...

So..... I still blog. Little snippets on Facebook, even smaller snippets on Twitter, rarely, but mostly at Jonesjourneyoffaith.blogspot.com. I come here to check out the writings of my children which are precious and random and perfect. I wondered once upon a time what I might do if I did not spend way too much time on Pleonast. Alas, I did not cure cancer, nor fix a social injustice as I once convinced myself I would be able to do if my energies were not sucked up by the black wall of Pleonast. Instead, I do laundry and pin great ideas on pinterest and talk in a cabby-esque accent as I drive my children to and from their excessive number of extra curricular activities. I from time to time re-read the catalog of gems and ridiculousness I have written on these pages and I think of how my life, my faith, my ideas, my mind has changed. And I am glad. And I miss some of you alot. But such is life and the chapter of it which I reside.

Hope you are well, hope you are being changed and transformed, hope you will say hello and let me know you are alive. Visit me at the blogspot if you'd like. Visit me at the house if you can. I make great Sweet Tea.

Blessings.
Sara

I am alive and well and living out in the middle of nowhere. How are the Kirkpatricks handling Charles' passing?

Hi Sarah. I haven't talked with you for awhile. We were at the church at BG a couple of months ago and your family was not there that day. We were back in BG this weekend but went to Lost River with Durell and family. I would loved to have met you.

Yearly Update

Nathan: Still completely amazing. Working hard so I can live a life of leisure. Lost weight, got more handsome, learned a new joke or two. Amazing.

Noah: Got the lead in the Community Youth Theater Musical, "Give My Regards to Broadway." Preached a sermon last Sunday morning. Auditioned and was accepted on the Sky Academy Forensics team, an outreach of the Western Kentucky University team. Won Sportsman of the Year on swimming team. Grew 6 inches. Smarter than I am, but too sweet hearted to take advantage of the situation. Handome and wonderful.

Macy: Was in "Give My Regards to Broadway," astounds me with her athleticism and determination. Blew her personal times out of the water on the swim team. Never seems to complain and is an amazing helper at home. One of the leading scorers on this Springs soccer team. Grew 5 inches this year. Still isn't big as a minute, but what she lacks in stature, she makes up in heart. Could be the best sister there ever was or will be. Beautiful.

Molly: Also was in the play, joined the swim team--became a major competitor, swam on a relay team with 10 year olds (she is 7). Cut her breaststroke time by 11 seconds in the Southern Kentucky championships. Set on being the best under 10 ultimate frisbee player ever. Realized she is an amazing artist and draws pictures that blow me away. Sensitive to the feelings of everyone around her....a child of amazing faith. Could win awards for being fabulous. Gorgeous.

Emma: Newest member of the fam. Foster child who is 3, sassy, and adorable.

Jordon: Two year old bro of Emma, has learned in his short life how to charm the pants off any adult. Adorable.

Lucy:Joined a gang, had the sheriff come out to reprimand, now on house arrest.

Sara: Lucky wife of amazing husband, Proud mom of three amazing kids, foster Mom to the sweetest toddlers in Kentucky, taxi driver, homeschool mom, continuous launderer.

How are you?

Who is Lucy? Yikes! Great update. Glad things are good. I keep up with y'all through Ann, though technically I have never laid eyes on a one of you!

Lucy is the dog...she has been in cahuts with Ann's dog Bailey and has been led astray. The puppy gang instigator was carted off to Dog prison. The next time you are in this area we must get together and talk. A girls night would be great!

how's the "Case for Dignity" stuff coming along? that's awesome that everyone is doing so well, and though i never though much about it, i never would have guessed that Molly. your kiddos are all so precocious, but always at just the right times because they still maintain their rule of kid-dom so well, too.

CfD is going great. We have about 60 bags to donate. Noah will be doing a spot on Midday Live and we are partnering up with CFA and hopefully Target to get some community awareness. He is doing a great job on the whole thing.

11/11/09

On October 30th we were set to meet our boys, but received a phone call that morning telling us, the foster family just could not let them go and they woudl be given the first rights to adopt the boys. We are heartbroken for ourselves, but accept this will mean the boys will not have to transition out of the only home they have known. We have taken the past couple of weeks to experience the pain and anger that comes with the loss of the boys, but are moving on to work toward opening our hearts and home to a child who needs a home. We are journaling our experiences at www.jonesjourneyoffaith.blogspot.com....feel free to join us there. We ask for your prayers over the next few weeks/months, while we move forward in our journey. Thanks.

I am so sorry! I can not imagine how difficult that must be. But, I know that you have faith in God that the right thing will be done for you and for those boys. I am thankful for you and your example even if we do live far away and only "see" you from a distance.

we will definitely be praying for you guys, and that God's plan be done, I know it will definitely be some lucky little soul who ends up with your family!!

you asked about us staying here on ed's blog and he'll probably respond as well, but we've agreed to be here till 2012 some time. I know he would stay probably forever, and I think the group here would/will keep us as long as we are willing to stay, who knows what the Lord has in store. As far as replacing us, not sure, I know that they would do all that they could to find someone local first and foremost, outside of that I'm not sure, why you guys wanting to come :)
