I'm Officially a Red Raider!!

On Monday, I received notification that I was accepted into Ŧexas Ŧech University. :D I will be transferring there in the fall, Lord willing. I am so excited!!

I am really looking forward to moving to Lubbock. Tech is a great school, and I am glad I'm getting the opportunity to go. I will be sharing an apartment with my good friends Kristina and Anna, both of which attend the congregation I plan on going to while I'm there. Our apartment is in a perfect spot; about 8 minutes from campus, 12 minutes from church, and only 5 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart. We have already started looking into decorating ideas for the living room and kitchen. It's going to be great to have our own place! I am so thankful it worked out to where the three of us could room together. It will definitely be a blessing to live with two of my wonderful sisters in Christ.

I am also excited about living closer to him. For the first time ever, we will only be 10 minutes away from each other (which is way nicer than 6 hours. Lol) It'll be great to be able to see each other more often. :)

The church there is absolutely wonderful. It will be neat to place membership at a congregation away from home with so many of my friends, both old and new. Of course I will miss my church family here, but I am really looking forward to being a part of the work there.

So long story short - Our God is great, and life is good. :)

Hope everyone is doing well also!

In Christian Love,

~Lauren

    Haha, Ryan, I was thinking the same thing about the "like" button! So glad you are coming, Lauren! Can't wait 'til you are here (and Ryan we are ready to have you back as well)!

    Haha, thanks, that is one of my favorite parts of the photograph. I like names that paint a picture similar to the work itself. Are you coming down to visit Danny anytime this summer?

Everything Has its Time

The Kleinwood singing was absolutely beautiful. So encouraging and uplifting. Singing praises to our God with over 1,170 brethren who gathered together from all over the country is definitely an experience I shall never forget. After witnessing something that incredible, I can't help but wonder how beautiful and magnificent Heaven must be. :)

Can you believe that the Summer is almost over? This year has gone by so fast..

So much is changing at a quick pace. I have learned a great deal of things in such a short period of time, and imagine that I will learn 10 times as much within the next year, Lord willing.

Things are definitely going to be different from here on out. I am excited; a little apprehensive, to be honest, but I have this "eager readiness" to spread my wings so to speak. I am certainly looking forward to these next few years in College, and all the knowledge and friendships I will gain in the process. :)

I trust in my Lord enough to know that he will help me through whatever comes my way.
He has a plan for my life, and I believe that it will unfold in due time. In his time.

"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under Heaven:
A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to loose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate,
A time of war,
And a time for peace."
- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

And so we go...

    that's one of my favorite OT passages, it brings me back to when I first became a Christian and what it meant to me then, and how I've learned so much more from it since. :)

College is approaching...

I am definitely looking forward to this Fall. :)

I have chosen to stay home another year and go to CCCC, the community college in my area. I believe it is was a wise decision for me to stay and knock out the last of my basics here at home. Not only will it help me financially, it will allow me to spend a little more time with my family as well.

There are also a few things happening here that I would like to be a part of before I move away. Our congregation just closed on some property a few weeks ago with hopes to construct a building in the near future. As of now, we have about 35 regular members. Over last few weeks we have been going over to the land together and started clearing out trees, tearing down old fencing, and filling in holes to start getting the property ready to build. We are also focusing on our evangelistic efforts. We are hoping that by starting a new church in this area, we will have a great opportunity to reach out to the people here and bring others to the LORD. It is a very exciting thing to be a part of. (Prayers on these efforts would be greatly appreciated) :)

I have also been teaching the children's class for the past 10 months or so. I have enjoyed that immensely. I have grown so much in the process. It's amazing what you can learn by simply putting a lesson together! It is such a blessing to be a part of their lives in that way. Helping the young ones understand the Word of God a little more is such a rewarding experience all the way around.

So, all in all, I am happy that I am going to be here a little while longer. I am ready to move on to this next stage in my life, and excited to see what these next few years have in store. :)

Hope all is well with everyone!

    Our congregation is moving into a bigger place because we fit 60 comfortably, and usually have about 70, so it is packed every Sunday.. which is a good problem to have, I think! :)

    It is good to see an update on your life! :)
