i cut 6 inches off one of my belts tonight, and punched a new hole in 2 of my belts. i am plateaued at around 340, 40 lbs lost so far, but i am still thinning up in the waist nicely. i'm just moving the weight around somewhat i guess, building muscle as i loose fat. i can deal with that:)
i haven't been to the doc in over 6 weeks, but i'm still loosing, so i think i can keep going on my own. much cheaper this way, and i really do feel i may have the lifestyle changes at least part way nailed down. i am confident i will keep loosing on the path i am on now, which is a very hopeful and inspiring feeling.
i found a couple programs online to walk you through building up your ability to do pushups and situps each week, and i am somewhat combining them; just started this week, but i like the approach; we'll give it 30 days and see how it goes:)
i need a place i can walk in the evenings that's not my neighborhood/warzone. i like lettuce lake park alot, but it closes at 7:30, and tonight i got home at 7:30. any ideas of parks around here or walking paths i can take that dont become infested with scallywags in the after hours? i'll find one.
i'm supposed to be going to the 9 party this year, but i have recently become aware of a fly in the ointment of my plan. as usual, it's fiscal, and as usual, it's really annoying. we shall see what i can do.
i'm helping put together a work outting/fun/training day on the beach the end of this month. i really enjoy this kind of creative teaching/planning stuff my HR director is helping coach me into. i could really see this as a fun career path to move into someday.
dunno about frolicing. Today is the day that I have to take out the trash (biohazard and regular) and finish homework for my last lab tomorrow, all done while my family is out of town :-(
so i had a fun weekend. this is not a complaint, btw.
i knew i was going to have to work saturday, but it was stuff i would appreciate the quiet and solitude to get done, so i didn't mind.
an issue arose on friday that changed some plans. i had to drive south to (and am currently at) our facility in Port St Lucie to fix a networking problem monday morning. so, i had alot of work to prep for monday i needed to do on saturday now, too. joy.
i slept in nicely, went into work mid afternoon.
at 9pm, i broke to go watch The Dark Knight for the 3rd time (just so awesome) and then back to the office at 11:30.
i got home at 3:30 in the am.
but, my desk was very clean, all my guys had assignments for monday to keep them occupied, and i was free to do my thing in PSL.
went to church yesterday morning, a bit bleary-eyed, but otherwise fine. drive to PSL last night, had church with my uncle mike here in PSL, and now i am finishing up to head back to my office to finish up some work this afternoon.
i'm not a work-a-holic by any means, but i do enjoy the feelign of accomplishing so much in so little time. i'm very tired right now, will probably be moreso tonight after a 3 hour drive and more work, but i dont mind. i feel satisfied and proud of the good i was able to do.
now i just need a smoothie king and i shall be content.
are you serious? I can drink like TWENTY mountain dews a day and not have a single ounce of trouble falling asleep! Are you like that with coffee, too?
i have downloaded a bit of "new" music of late. some are singers/bands i liked way back in the misty dark past, and some are new finds that i quite like.
i'm a recent fan of "contemporary christian" music, so if i may ask, please recommend bands and singers i should try out. i was typically of the opinion that those who can sing in more general genres, and those who can't sing contemporary christian. i know that is not the case now, and many great christian bands exist out there for me to seek out and find.
i really like the Bart Millard Hymned album, and i recently was pointed onto Red and Switchfoot, both of which i am exploring today between work items.
other recent purchases are, in no particular order:
The Kentucky Headhunters
Gnarls Barkley
Junior Brown
Weezer
Kings of Leon
The Killers
Temple of the Dog
Flight of the Conchords
thus endeth my post. please recommend some christian music to me, as you are able and willing.
Thank you for the well wishes. Things are just that.
Nicole Nordeman is amazing. She's a top fiver for me. Bethany Dillon, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Jimmy Needham, and Chris Rice are some other favs. Good luck in your search!
