Please pray for Kaylynn 08-27-08 07:48am CST
Kaylynn and her new husband Trent is on their honeymoon in Jamaica. Gustav is going to pass close to Jamaica.
jenmurffoh no! I hope it doesn't ruin their honeymoon!!
adamandjessesdadOh, no! I knew someone about 20 years ago who was stuck in Jamaica on their honeymoon during a hurricane. That one was a direct hit.
all_gods_childrenNoted, hope they get to enjoy some of their honeymoon.
girlietexan^Yes...please pray for us :) We just got notice from the authorities here that we are getting a direct hit sometime this afternoon up through the night! Our flight is scheduled to leave on Friday at 1:20, which would put us leaving the resort at 9 am. Right now we are on standby. But they said we are promised a room if we have to stay over...YEAH!

Recipe time!!

Hey all-I am co-chairing a cookbook fundraiser for "FC Parents" and would love it if you could take a minute and contribute a couple of recipes for our book. Anyone and everyone (you don't have to be an "FC Parent" or even have connections with FC) can contribute up to 3 per person. We need all the recipes in by September 30th. If you have a minute or two, these are the steps.

Go to www.morriscookbooks.com

Look to the right side for and click on "typensave online"

You should see a box that asks for 3 things:
Contributor (enter your name)
Group login (enter fcparents)
Password (enter hppvm)

After submitting the recipes, please check to see there are no mistakes as you can not return to edit later.
If this doesn't work for you, you may email recipes to me and I will enter them for you. (beccimckinney@yahoo.com) If you have any problems or questions just let me know. Thanks so much for your help.

Cool! I got the link to work.
For all you want to be writers out there- This is your chance to actually have something in print! LOL!
rainoutgood job, maybe i'll think to add a couple of recipes
joes_wifeI think it has actually been okay in Orlando. Here in Tampa we still have no rain! The temperature is very pleasant too!
girlietexanFun...I will send in a few! I love FC but never got to go!
jansileeFriday...if it stops raining!
preacherdavetxSeriously?!?!?! That is awesome! I had no idea. Please do.
sheliandbrettsmomYes I have that CD and I love it. The lyrics are even better when she sings them!
preacherdavetxAlas, my heart was broken as I called the Disney Mail Order and they told me they couldn't sell me gluten free goods. Thanks for trying though. I just have to rely on Kris and Sommer for the time being.
all_gods_childrenFunny, we are doing the same thing here. Our final date to get everything in is this week... Aaackkk! My fingers are tired of the data entry...lol. Hope you have a great turnout!!
lucky_7No way...she's your cousin??? I have her for english this year. She seems really nice so far!
kimpeckIt was the picture people at Baybrook mall. So how was the kids first day back at school.

Bamboo is in the ground! 08-18-08 08:58am CST
We went, bought and planted! I will post some pics later. Bad news- they didn't have any black. The one I wanted most. Anyways, they said they would have some in a couple of weeks. But don't think I have any room for them. We'll see.

Marley is doing well. She is (find some wood to knock on) house trained. I have to say it was pretty painless. I am a freak about clean carpet. Martin went and bought me a Hoover carpet steamer to make me feel better about "their" dog. I think I cleaned it twice in the first week before my sister Lisa told me that you aren't supposed to clean it that much. Does anyone know how often you can clean it without it damaging your carpets?

Is everyone ready for school to start again? I am planning to do something on Monday, but haven't figured out what to do. Anyone interested let me know. Lisa's twins are starting Kindergarten and Maddi will be at school the first day. Any ideas? I thought we could at least eat out for lunch.

Have a great day!
Wendi
adamandjessesdadWhere did you find the bamboo? Give Jacque a call if you plan to do lunch. She needs to be kept involved.
jocJulie is scheduled to arrive late Thursday evening. Her things are supposed to be arriving some time Friday. We will be unloading them on Saturday morning at 8 o'clock. I am so very happy that she will finally be here. Pray for a safe trip.
melissakayeWe just steam cleaned our carpet this weekend & it makes such a huge difference. I've heard that you aren't supposed to do it too often, but I'm not sure how much is too much.
hlp696never knew there was such a thing as cleaning your carpets too much!
girlietexanCarrot soup...yummy! I will try it. We will see yall the weekend we get back...hopefully!
rainoutok i have a couple of places you should go for lunch -- either Jeanie Ann's Tea Room in LaPorte (unbelievable homemade bread) or The Magnolia Bakery & Cafe in Pasadena (awesome Thumbprint cookies)...DO IT!!
mcbecciof course not, please do! We need more help!

Bamboo??? 08-14-08 06:29am CST
We are going to buy some bamboo tomorrow. Does anyone know anything about it? I know there are two different kinds- Clumping and Running. I want the clumping kind.

The band teacher at Cyfair High School sells Bamboo. It is cheaper than a lot of other places I have looked. I never knew how expensive bamboo was!

If you have them do you love/hate it? We are wanting to block out the neighbors house. Not that it isn't nice but just want a little more secluded feeling.

jenkegleyOooh, weird. I have never seen black bamboo.
spimmanCool, I know it grows fast!
curliePretty!
adamandjessesdadI like that. There's bamboo along the fence at my office, and it seems to grow very well without ever being tended.
jocIs that what they make fishing poles out of?
hlp696that black is beautiful. my grandmother has some bamboo that she to block out her neighbor's house. she lives on a lake and it looks great. just going by the pictures i would say she has something like the timber bamboo.
emersonk78You can buy paddles alot cheaper, or make one out of plexi like my parents did. But, on second thought, Bamboo does have some powerful natural flex. I've been told, "go get a stick from the back yard." But never: "go grab a long, flexible, piece of bamboo from the pool garden."
rainoutyou'll have to let me know how it goes with the bamboo -- looks neat!
jenmurffI like bamboo. I'm surprised it is expensive though. Doesn't it grow fast?
ericsgalthe black is beautiful - I haven't seen it before! I've heard that if you know someone who has it, it's very easy to transplant and spreads like crazy so check around with neighbors and friends first! Or come to Lufkin - my inlaws have gobs of it on their back fenceline!
preacherdavetxSeems like you can't lose any way you go. They all look great. But I do think the black is cool.
satbMy mother had some Bambusa textilis many years ago...it grew very rapidly, made a great barrier, needed no tending...and then she decided she didn't want it. To remove, perhaps dynamite...it was hardy. EB
jenyeah, Twin City is our home congregation; we've only been going for a little while, so we dont know everyone yet...lol; it's so big!

Connorisms 08-13-08 12:23am CST
Marley has been biting on Connor. Not in a mean way just most of the time it's playful. He is sick of it and we are too. Connor is so excitable and Marley knows it. They totally feed off each other!
from the kitchen I could hear Connor in the Living room lecturing Marley and this is what I heard,
"MARLEY we are a family of lickers not biters!"

There was a couple of others but I am too tired to think of them.

So Goodnight from the family of lickers!
nugglefriendcuzIt is crazy what kids sometimes come up with. I love it. Drock is one of the best at coming up with something funny to say.
jenkegleyHa ha!
jenmurffthat is too funny!
sunshinelcLOL...that is so funny! I really busted out laughing when I read that.
jennifermyThat's cute!
hlp696well if your lickers, i hope you are teethbrushers too!
mamamiaThat is so funny!!
adamandjessesdadThat's hilarious!
adamandjessesdadRegarding Outlook, you should be able to go to "File" on your old computer and select "Import and Export", then export all of the mail to a file that you select. You can then copy that file to the new computer and import it.
nornieLOL!
rainoutthat is HILARIOUS!!! we'll be razzing ya'll about that one for a while! ha
lavendargirl36That is really cute! Kids keep us entertained.
