There's only 2 more sleeps... till Hailey and Mindle's wedding day!
Just thought I'd throw that out there =D
SO exciting! I think I'm almost as excited as I was at our wedding! I love that girl. =D
I wish Emery was going to be there.... sniffle sniffle.
But someday she will marry and I'll go to her wedding too! And Hailey can go, too! And then we'll all be really excited all together! YAY!
But yes... Mindle and Hailey Hastings... soon to be!!!
I wish i was going to be there too!!!! Alas...I can not get off work and I have school and life is crazy....I wanna go. I will be there in heart i promise
How you know I am 100% girl: As i reached into a box of stuff to go to Goodwill this afternoon, I felt something weird on my finger. I pulled out my hand and lo-and-behold there was a nice sized grasshopper on my finger. And what did I do? I screamed, shook my hand and jumped back... and screamed. Yep. Full girl.
So... I've have now had one of THOSE experiences. You know, the experience of meeting a mean and nasty person who you would've NEVER expected to be a Christian and then meeting them in another setting and finding out that they indeed ARE a Christian. Here's the short story:
I work as an optical dispenser (Yes, i was blessed with a great job!) at an optometrist's office. This lady who was incredibly picky about her glasses (had to be plastic, had to be wide enough to accommodate a progressive lens and had to be red) later came in saying that not only was it difficult to see but she "HATED" the frame. So we tried to fix the vision, but as it turns out, her eyes are unable to adjust to the new type of progressive she was wearing. No fault of her own, and we explained that to her. We also explained that we would take her frames and replace the lenses with her old progressive in her new prescription-- at no cost to her. With this she only got grumpier. Cause she hated her frame and couldn't blah blah blah. When she finally made her decision and brought in her glasses for us to change the lenses, she yelled at me and told me that even though it was not her fault or our fault and that it would be at no cost to her, she would "STILL BE FINDING A NEW EYE DOCTOR" because we just don't know what we're doing and blah blah blah. I, thank goodness, was crazy-sweet to her and tried to sound sympathetic... and told her that we were sorry and would fix the situation.
THEN... the next day, I left work early to go to a funeral (Megan Dill's mom passed away). Afterward, I was talking to Megan's father-in-law (one of our elders) and turned around only to be face-to-face with this woman (Toni). My reaction- "Oh... hi, Toni. You doin' ok? How did you know Carol?" She answered "She was my best friend. She taught me how to teach." "Oh, you're a teacher?" She responded, "I teach Sunday school at the Spanish Trail church of Christ." I'm pretty sure that at this point my face just looked stunned. She then asked me how I knew Carol and I said, "I go to church with her daughter, Megan, on the northside." I told Lacie (my mom-in-law), who was standing right next to me, "This is one of our clients at work." And she told her husband who was standing next to her, "This is the girl I yelled at." YEP.
So i told her I was sorry for her loss and that I would see her soon when she comes to pick up her glasses.
And you know what... I'm pretty sure she'll be nice to me when she comes in.
Moral of the story: No matter what you're going through or where you are- remember that you are representing Christ to the world. He is the words and we are the tune. Make sure to live like it even in the storms.
If you move to Phoenix, I'd hire you in an instant! Hope you're having a great week. I forgot to ask Morgan if a lady contacted him about 2 weeks ago to video her wedding.
