My God, How Wonderful Thou art
My God, how wonderful Thou art,
Thy majesty, how bright;
How beautiful Thy mercy seat
In depths of burning light!
How dread are Thy eternal years,
O everlasting Lord,
By prostrate spirits day and night
Incessantly adored!
How wonderful, how beautiful,
The sight of Thee must be;
Thy endless wisdom, boundless power,
And glorious purity!
O how I fear Thee, living God,
With deep and tender fear;
And worship Thee with trembling hope,
And penitential tears!
Yet, I may love Thee, too, O Lord,
Almighty as Thou art;
For Thou hast stooped to ask of me
The love of my poor heart!
No earthly father loves like Thee,
No mother, e’er so mild,
Bears and forbears as Thou hast done,
With me, Thy sinful child.
Father of Jesus, love’s Reward!
What rapture it will be
Prostrate before Thy throne to lie,
And gaze, and gaze on Thee!

For those of you that asked about Doris... She is doing OK. She says she now has more respect for people who've had heart attacks! She came to church Sunday- and slept through the whole thing. Bless her heart, she is just so very tired- which would be perfectly natural considering her experience a week or so ago. She is craving ice cream and Chinese. We'll have to do something about that.
Bill and the kids are working on our addition. He promised them pizza and pop if they got the old porch roof off in less than an hour. Took them half that time- but what did he expect with Papa John's in the offering? Might have myself a big ole dining room by winter. Everything in the living room is covered in a black dust- but there's progress going on, so I'll not complain too loudly. |

In loving-kindness Jesus Came
In loving-kindness Jesus came
My soul in mercy to reclaim,
And from the depths of sin and shame
Through grace He lifted me.
He called me long before I heard,
Before my sinful heart was stirred,
But when I took Him at His word,
Forgiv'n, He lifted me.
His brow was pierced with many a thorn,
His hands by cruel nails were torn,
When from my guilt and grief, forlorn,
In love He lifted me.
Now on a higher plane I dwell,
And with my soul I know 'tis well;
Yet how or why, I cannot tell,
He should have lifted me.
From sinking sand He lifted me,
With tender hand He lifted me,
From shades of night to plains of light,
Oh, praise His name, He lifted me!
Oh, praise His name, Oh, praise His name, He lifted me!!!

Just some soup and bread and a couple pies. The weather has be gorgeous and cool, making everyone happy. Amazing how the weather affects folks. The kids are just giddy. Had a wonderful time with each other and loved ones.
We've been doing laundry and the boys have filled the dumpster with laundry- I think they would rather part with the surplus than have to deal with it- fine by me. Less is more.
Those girls of Grandfather's worked for about 5 hours on the thorn patch-hoeing their little hearts out! it looks great!! They'll sleep well, tonight.
Everyone has been busy with projects around the homeplace. Jacob and Paul have been working on drywall and Joseph and Daniel have been doing some roofing on an outbuilding. Me? Hmm... I did mention the laundry, right? And I made noodles for dinner- that takes a while. Homemade, even shared some with Rosemary. And OK, quit your nagging, I made a few little postcards and put together one measly quilt block. I needed a break from the laundry. I have a gazillion piles of school books circling the quilting room floor- I was committed to sorting one box, so see? I needed a reward. Only one, maybe two, more boxes to sort through- and I am even getting rid of a box. School starts on tuesday- a week from today, and I still need to make apple sauce. Didn't I already make applesauce? why, yes I did, thanks so much for remembering. Did I mention yet that my freezer died? No? Well, I am really too ill about it to discuss it- maybe later. That's what I get for going on vacation and having a perfectly wonderful time. The devil is a snot, I tell ya.
so....plans for this week. Keep cleaning and washing and sorting. Watch deer hunting videos with my sweetheart cause there's a nip in the air and we all know what that does to the hunters out there.
