Today will be my 13th and final lesson on Isaiah. It has been very enjoyable teaching Isaiah to my 1st adult audience, but has been very challenging as well. Not only has the preparation been intense, trying to figure out how to lead the class in a teaching style and initiating discussion has been a challenge as well. All in all I feel like I have learned a lot about Isaiah and about how to teach; I think I will be better prepared for both next time.

For now, as much fun as it has been I'm mentally ready for some relief although I'm really looking forward to the 2nd half of Isaiah next quarter.
auamyGood job on teaching the adult class. That's really encouraging and I know you did a great job!
sethhumphreyYou did a good job...want to do the talk for me tonight?
sethhumphreyI'm not sure about teaching, that's very short notice and I'm teaching 4th quarter (high school I think).
tickets:o)
melissakayeWay to go taking on such a big task. I'm sure you did/do a great job!
ticketshave you ever watched "britain's got talent"? didn't know if you saw that comment on my blog! haha :o)
pharmgirlYou were very brave to teach Isaiah, but I know you did a good job. Public speaking seems to be your forte.
hillabillyCongratulations on completing your first series of adult Bible classes. Haven't forgotten what it was like trying to develop a teaching style that promotes discussion. Keep at it. Learn from the good class teachers. I teach with a few basic principles in mind: 1.) you can't teach what you don't know 2.) teach as if the Bible and its stories are fascinating and thought provoking 3.) teach so as NOT to mess up those fascinating and thought-provoking stories/Scriptures. May God bless you in your efforts to study and teach His word.

Last Weekend and the Week Ahead 06-30-08 10:06am CST
This past weekend I took some time to mow, weed eat and maintain the yard. The grass which was literally 2 feet or taller when we bought the place is being tamed. I have fertilized, used weed killer and watered a ton. We are starting to see a few results which is encouraging, but there is still quite a bit of dead/distressed grass. Jana made 2 flower pots this weekend, and I planted a 4 foot crape myrtle (on sale for $5) in a bigger pot until I find the time to prepare a place in our backyard for it. Hopefully the rain will help!

Jana left this morning for the beach with her Mom. Jana has a teaching conference Tuesday - Thursday and so got a free hotel, I couldn't get off work because my boss is on vacation...BOOOOO! I'm going to try to get a lot done around the house this week and relax. We might be having some family in town for the 4th of July, which would be nice since the house is almost in order.

How is everyone else?
sethhumphreyCool, sounds like you found your spreader.
coulternervous & excited about our 2 week adventure.

melissakayeSounds like things are coming along very well for y'all. Too bad you don't get to join in on the fun with Jana, but hope you do get to relax some.

Blessed and Busy 06-24-08 10:45am CST
Life and Work have really been busy the last month or so, but great!

-Kevin, Jessica and Kenzie lived with us for 5 weeks (mainly Kevin)
-Bought a house
-Painted a house
-Many other home projects done
-Tons of new items to create/track at work including a complex Excel spreadsheet
-Complications at work
-Teaching an Adult Bible Class
-Group Leader and other Church responsibilities
-Good friends having children
-Brothers(In-Law) 16th birthday
-Car Issues
-Trying to resurrect my yard
-Moving myself, Brad/Fallon and Kevin/Jessica in 1 week
-More...

The thing is, while life has been a bit hectic I am so thankful to have so many blessings in our friends, family, church, new home, my job and so many other blessings. I know that being able to do for others and have other help us is a huge blessing from God that adds so much to my life. If it wasn't for extremely large quantities of caffeine I don't think my mildly ADD mind could have handled.

James 1:17, "Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow."
