ha ha, yeah I thought of him too when I first heard about that movie! Too funny! I haven't seen it yet, but friends that have said it's really good. All except Kirk Cameron, the actors are volunteers, not professionals. Same producers of "Facing the Giants". That's a good one too. I really appreciate the Christian values these guys incorporate in their movies. So refreshing!
Well, I had a great time this weekend up in Wisconsin. Thursday Cory picked me up from the airport and took me to the Tim and Melissa's, where I was staying the first night. We had a great time playing Settlers of Catan with John, Kelly, and, yes, Jonathan, too (who made my heart melt when he called me "Rissa"). The next morning was great, seeing as I practically missed it all due to some wonderful beauty sleep. Cory came and picked me up after his class and took me to meet Whit and then his roommates, Korey and Branden, who are an absolute hoot to hang out with. Then we all hopped in the car to go to have hamburgers and a bon fire at Dennis and Melia's (thanks for having sweet tea, by the way; it was the only time I got to have any!). We sang hymns around the fire and made smores. I got to sleep in Becca's room, which was great because it's all decked out in LOTR and Pirates stuff! Saturday we had a healthy and tasty breakfast of buckwheat pancakes and homemade juice (yummy!). I met Cory's family in Manitowoc and got to see Lake Michigan before we went to Walmart and got him Journey's Greatest Hits (oh yeah!). I had a really great talk with Melia that night, realizing just how much we have in common being PK's and fellow "Twilighters." Sunday I met even more great people at church and then went to watch the Packers game, which was great because they won, at John and Kelly's. I am still recovering from the NFL overdose I got this weekend. It's weird because college football hardly even exists up there; it's all about THE PACKERS (or Cowboys, sorry). AND, if I have to hear that NFL Monday Night Football theme song one more time, I will go crazy! Sunday night we went to Culvers with Chad and his family. Then Monday, Cory and Branden took me to the airport, and I returned to the ATL. :(
I had a truly awesome weekend getting to know more members of my Christian family. I came home so incredibly encouraged by the warm welcome I got from the people up there, and hope to go back soon! Thank you all so much! God bless you!

P.S. Roll Tide!!!!!!!!!
Hey, it was really great to see you "again". lol Brought back old memories. Glad that you made it home safely and hopefully we'll get to see you again sometime soon!
First of all, thelostprophet is one smart person!! Amen to that! :) 2ndly - Cory - hahahaha!! Sorry, Marissa! Blame it on Denny and welcome to my world!!! :)
I'm so glad you had a good time. We miss you too- already!! Come back soon - your room is ready for you any time! :)
We got your sweet card in the mail yesterday, thank you. We really loved meeting you too, and having you in our home. It was so much fun getting to know you. Please come back soon! We miss you!! :)
Well, in one way, it's hard to believe that it's already been two years since I started the photography program at Gwinnett Tech, but in another way, it seems like forever.
I would like to apologize to pretty much all of my friends because I know that I have neglected everyone lately. I tried to find a happy medium between friends and school, but I don't think I really did. There are so many times that I know I either forgot or didn't have time to call back, times that I couldn't attend Bible studies, and times that even though I might have been around, my mind was still on school. I love every single one of you and am so blessed to have friends like y'all. Thank you for being patient with me, and helping me through these stressful times. I don't know what I would do without such wonderful friends and family.
Wednesday was portfolio grading day, and it was torture. We turned our portfolios in at 9:00 Wednesday morning, and the judging was over at 9:30 pm, so we didn't find out the results until Thursday morning. I did pass, but now we just have to finish printing for the show, so we can have them all framed by Thursday.
I would like to invite everyone who can make it to our Portfolio Show on September 6th (for more info, please visit www.gtcportfolioshow.com ). I am so excited that my parents are flying down for the show, and some awesome friends are driving over from Alabama, too! Hope y'all can come!

p.s. Roll Tide! What a great way to start off the season!
Okay, so after 7 quarters of exciting yet very humbling photography school, I am almost there. I have one more quarter of photo classes and one more after that of psychology and marketing, and Marissa Jonas will have an Associates Degree!! But just getting through this next quarter will be extremely tough, mostly because there's just not enough time in one day to get everything done. It will be difficult to keep my priorities where they need to be, to remember that I didn't get where I am on my own, and I can't get any further without Him either. He deserves more time out of my day than just a few minutes of Bible reading and a couple of prayers.
It's strange to think how quickly life is changing. Kaitlin is going to FC, Andrew is getting his driving permit soon, I am finishing school and not sure what I'm going to be doing after... growing up is just hard I guess.
Well, I had better get to bed. Have a good Lord's day, and God bless!

I can't believe it either. I came across pictures the other day of the Thanksgiving that y'all spent at Grandmother's when you were little and living in London.
Sorry for not updating sooner. Things have been quite busy lately. School is going pretty well. The only problem is finding time to get everything done whether it's shooting, developing or printing photos. 24 hours just isn't enough time to get everything I need done in one day. Work is good. I love working for the health system. I am learning so much, and I love all of the nice ladies I work with. I start my two-week internship in mid-March. I am interning with a British photographer up in Virginia, so I can stay with my parents. I am really excited about this arrangement, and I know that I will get so much of it.
I'm hardly home anymore. Between school work (yes, even on Saturdays), work, visiting Auburn, and Bible studies, I hardly have time to breathe anymore. I just have to keep reminding myself that it's only for about 9 more months. Portfolio show is going to be Saturday, September 6th at Art Station in Stone Mountain. I will give more details later.
I can't wait to see my family in a couple of weeks... if I can just get through the rest of this quarter.
I love all of y'all. God bless!
