Search me, O God, and know my heart. See if there is any wicked way in me” (Psalm 139:23-24). I have set before you life and death, blessing, and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). For all our talk about loving the truth, do we really desire to see all that God sees when He examines out heart? There will be no redemption for those unwilling to face reality. Why do we continue to punish ourselves for things we can’t control? God wants us to live life to the fullest with respecting his commandments as well. There are so many good things that we can enjoy. We have God first and for most, I could just say that and that would be enough. But there is more that can be thankful for in this life. But if all we do is focus on this life then we aren’t actually of God. God tells us to keep our mind on things above and not what we are doing here in this world. Don’t let Satan eat away at you before you get so sick in your spiritual life that you start to fall. I will tell you there will be people in this life that will get you down and even hurt you but don’t let those people get in the way of what’s important. We have to humble ourselves and first keep the commandments of God. If God does know our heart then we must continue to search for him and keep his will and not ours. What kind of person or character do you have? If you don’t know then you must continue to search. It might be helpful to right them down. We must pray about what kind of person we want to be and we first have to let God control our lives. Do we actually know who we are? God knows us better then we know ourselves. But God does know, and we can be sure that his dealing with us will be based on the perfect knowledge that he has of our real character, regardless of whether others deal with us fairly or not. God knows what, when, how things will happen. God’s know who you are because He made you. God knows who you are because you want to live for him. Stay in God always and don’t let sin take you. Build your character for God because ultimately its God we have to impress and not others. If we impress God, knowing we can never match what He’s done for us, then were going to impress others.
A sacrificial heart of a servant is what I want. I pray for empathy and unselfishness because it is not always easy to look beyond myself. I hope it is not due to my lack of life experiences. I know growth often comes with a price/pain/suffering so praying, studying and serving should not be absent in one's life. When we think of living life to the fullest we sometimes think of rushing it, or packing in so many activities. Maybe it is to just make the most of every day, opportunity, or chance to do good in God's eyes.
As long as Uzziah sought the Lord, God made him prosper. But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction (2 Chronicles 26:5b, 16a). That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10). The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered (Proverbs 11:25). All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship all those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive (Psalm 22: 29). As we look through God holy word we can see that He wants us to grow. God wants us to grow in body, spirit, and mind. God doesn’t want us to lay back and enjoy the ride. God wants us to do the work. As for many of us know how to work in the general world, so we also have to apply that to God’s holy word. It should be a daily habit to take your bible and read it. Go to a profit area and study the word of God. God’s word isn’t something to be ashamed of or taken lightly. The more we grow, the better understanding the scriptures will be. The reason many people shun away from the bible is they are scared and it’s a large reading. To give some advice to everyone, we should take a few chapters or verses at a time and meditate on those things for starters. Then grow from that and you will see an increase of understanding and knowledge. Being prosperous isn’t an over night thing but a daily thing. You will see a increase over time. I hope we all can grow and be prosperous today, know matter what stages we are in. Be fruit full today and grow.
As our experiences in life change and we run in to more and different situations, it is amazing how the Bible can still apply and help us through them. Truly every answer is in the scriptures.
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:32). What is truth? How do we come to the truth? Where do we find the truth? All the answers you want to know about the truth of life, death, and after life, come from the pages of the bible. God is the truth and there isn’t any lie in him. Jesus came to this world to teach us the truth. The bible has been there for many to read. However, many people do not want to accept what they read. Some don’t want to accept the truth that comes from the pages of God’s word. Many people think that it’s another man made book. People don’t realize that the book was written by man but the Holy Spirit was with these men when they wrote it. God power is far more advanced that we can understand. Its faith and love for God that we must read and pages of God word. We must also accept that God’s power is in the pages that we read. The truth lies in the pages that we read. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture (John 10:9).
I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest -- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
(Proverbs 24:30-34)
I like this verse you pulled out because it reminds us that our work with the gospel is never done. “A little folding of the hands to rest” reminds me of what people usually do when they think their work is finished. Btw, I appreciate all the work you do on your website. :o)
