I can't believe that we're so far into September already! It has been so busy, but so much fun and it's still not over yet! :)
The first weekend in Sept we went to Nashville, TN to a wedding and got to see so many wonderful people, and then stayed with the Malone's that Friday night. Fun times.
Then the next Wed. - Sat. we went to Helen, GA for a family reunion with all of my family and got to see my parents!!!!! SO much fun!!! It makes me so sad that they don't get to see the kids very often, but they warmed up to them pretty quickly. It was so beautiful there too. A litle German town with good choclate and fudge. :)
This Thurs. - Sat. we went to Greenville, MS because Sam's brother in law was doing a meeting there and we hadn't seen them since Christmas so we got to stay and visit with them. It was great to see the kids have so much fun together.
This coming Wed or Thurs I'm going to Bowling Green for a couple of days and then on Fri to St. Louis to visit with my grandmother and my parents will get there on Sat. I'll be there until the following Mon because Lauren is getting married!! SO exciting!!! Then my parents get to come home with us!!! :)
About the house...we found out that there was an IRS lien on it, which expires in Oct., so we're hoping to move by the end of Oct.
Sounds like you've been busy! It's been too long since we've seen Danny and Roberta. At least before we had kids, so probably 8 years. I'm glad you'll have some time with your parents! Enjoy it!
I found that picture of Sam and the boys at Chuck E Cheese several weeks ago. I'll take it to Bekah tonight. Sorry it's taken so long, but I forgot all about it.
Oh, how glad I am to read of your joy in being with others. Always maintain those connections. And to read of your parents loving your kids. Wonderful! Just so sorry you are having to move...again. There was a time (early years!) it seemed like we were constantly moving either, the house getting sold out from under us, or finding a cheaper accommodation. Love to you both.
Actually, I don't have anything planned for Saturday, as of yet! We are about 60 miles west of St. Louis. We were just there tonight...it's not a bad drive at all- straight down I-70. Where do your relatives live?
I always wondered how it would be when the whole family had a stomach bug. Well, we got to find out this weekend. :( Levi got sick in the car on the way home from church and then again later that night and he was miserable almost all night. :( He was a bit lethargic on Thurs, but no vommiting. So, we thought we were over it.
Well, Titus started on Fri afternoon and it was SO pitiful. He was SO sick! Then Sam started on Fri night and I started on Sat!! SO miserable!! I think we are all finally beginning to feel better.
I scrubbed the whole house and washed every blanket that was touched! Probably a little too much, but I don't want that bug to come back!!!
Thanks :)...it's my first show and I'm a nervous wreck!! I'll be posting pictures on pleo really soon so stay tuned! Hope you guys are all feeling better now. :)
I'm so sorry! Completely understand! 2 christmases ago, we had 8 people in the house and one bathroom with the stomoch flu for a week! Could be worse, we could live in the days of no indoor plumbing and no clorox wipes! scary thought:o)
you WONDERED what it would be like? :-/ I could have told you...every single girl at our house had it on two separate occasions. One was Christmas Eve! We all laid around the living room together with a large wash basin lying in the middle of the floor, washclothes hanging over the side!
Wow, I'm really bad about writing very often! :) A lot has happened since I last blogged. We found a house about 5-7 minutes from the building. It was a foreclosure, so we are able to get a lot larger house than we were expecting. We are SO excited about having more space!!! The owners before us were smokers so we have been painting, painting, painting! Aunty Lisa and Kelly came and helped us SO much with pulling wallpaper and paintig. (I despise wallpaper!) They were amazing!! Sam's dad's job happened to send him to BHM for a job, so mom and dad came down and helped us with painting too!! What perfect timing!!! They were such a great help! People from church have been wonderful about watching the boys for us. We've just got the boys room and a bunch of trim left!!! SO exciting!!! We're hoping to close next week!! This house and all the help we have had has been a wonderful blessing from God.
Not much else going on. My parents will be in the states on Sept. 4th!!! I am SO excited to get to see them!! Once a year is not nearly enough!!
The rest of the family is all well. The boys are growing up far too quickly, but bring us so much joy. I'm so excited to meet our new gift from God.
Tandie Lacquement. Do you have another person that could take over for us so that our family in Zimbabwe will continue to receive parcels? Thanks! You can email me if you need to at jlacquement@bellsouth.net. Also, I am sending one more parcel this week. That will be the last one. Thanks!
Wow, that's so great about the house!! We'll be looking for one in the next couple of years. I despise wallpaper as well. I had to pull about 2 rooms of it, and one room was huge :)
I'm glad you will get to see your parents soon. Do you know if they will be in Columbia, TN at all?
Congratulations! That's so exciting and I really appreciate your attitude towards the house- a blessing from God. So easy to forget that in this country we live in!
It's amazing what kind of support you get when it comes to moving into a new house. So glad you have had so much help! Hope to see pics of the building. How long till the new little gift comes?
congratulations on your new home... it is always exciting to move to a new home. I think we moved everytime I got pregnant...once I figured that part out we stayed put for awhile :) jk. Enjoy
Wow, I'm way behind on all your news but it sounds like very exciting things are going on for y'all!
I should be in B'ham this Thursday night through sometime Saturday (8/21-23). I'm hoping to at least get some folks together for dinner or something at some point, so I'll keep you posted!
Hey! Adam now has a 2nd job...maybe Ellen will let me know when she will be going down and I can catch a ride with her :) I'm feeling good! Actually went on a 5 mile hike today...just pretty tired now! You? Are ou planning to find out gender this time?
So excited for you and your new house! I hope it's hardwoods and not carpet! I'm sure your parents are thrilled to get to see your boys! Of course, you and Sam also;o)
Yes, it is true!! We are expecting our third gift from God. He/she is due Feb. 20th, but I think I should just add two more weeks to that because my boys were aruond 2 weeks late. :) We're praying for a little girl, but of course will absolutely LOVE a boy too. :) They are pretty fun.
Levi is such a mommy's boy right now though. Hope he gets over that in the next couple of months. I can bsrely leave a room! But he does love seeing babies and holding baby dolls. :)
I think Titus will be a great big, big brother. He's got such a good sweet heart.
Not too much else going on here. We're really wanting to move closer to Selfville, but we're having to wait for the other house to sell, so we're praying for that. We have been so blessed with the wonderful group at Selfville. They're all so loving and kind and encouraging.
Hi, Gloria! Congratulations on #3!! Maybe you will have a little girl this time. :-) Your boys are so sweet and growing up so fast. Still waiting on Marice's little one to make its arrival.
HEY THERE GIRL!!!!! It's Laura Hawkins...Sam's old Volleyball costar! ;-) How in the world are you???!!!!!And THREE???!! Amazing and crazy! Where are you all right now?!
I need some instructions on mailing boxes to Zimbabwe. We have addresses from Bob Buchanon but I was thinking you had written on here certain size priority mail flat rate boxes that we could send at a good rate. The post office is charging us 49.95 a box. Please email me with whatever tips and information that you have. We have addresses from Bob just need mailing instructions and maybe tips on what is most needed. plogden@aogden.com
Moving?! Fun :) We like to paint...sort of :) I think I would like to come down, but let me talk to Adam and see what would be better...he's has a second job now, so schedules are kinda funky.
Hi Gloria. Could you email me about the food boxes going to Zimbabwe? I lost all my past emails and address book, so I haven't been able to email you. We will not be able to send boxes for awhile and I want to make sure this family continues to receive food from someone else that may be interested. jlacquement@bellsouth.net Thanks, Tandie
Wow! I didn't know (or I forgot) that you have family in St. Louis. You will definitely have to let us know when y'all are there and you could come stay with us (if you have time!). Or we could at least meet ya'll for dinner or something! That's exciting! :)
I am SO grateful for my boys! They make me smile and laugh so many times thoughout the day!
TItus can now dress himself and he just LOVES it! He will change outfits 3 or 4 times a day and they are the most colorful outfits! And of course he has to wear his cowboys boots! :) So adorable!
Levi is into shoes! He will bring you anyones shoes and say please repeatedly until you put them on, no matter how big they are. :)
Titus and Levi just loves each other so much and it is so wonderful to see!
And of course my wonderful husband. He's such a good daddy and does so much for me! I love him!!
hey Gloria! I saw your sister-in-law tonight. they just moved to Round Rock, right by the city we live in! They were visiting our congregation tonight. If yall visit them you BETTER let me know so I can see you and those precious boys! love ya!
Gloria, you've always been such an encourager! I love that about you! It's so sweet hearing more about your family and your boys' new accomplishments. :) I miss you, too! Blessings.
I came home for the weekend to attend another wedding, but I'm heading back to BG today. Any chance you all could stop by BG so I could love on the babies??? ;)
