Olympics and hurricanes 08-04-08 07:10am CST
The Olympics in Beijing start this week. It has made me think back 4 years ago when I was in Greece working at the Olympics for my company. I didn't sign up this time to work their. A lot has happened in 4 years (let's see, a wife, 2 kids, etc...) that I decided that I was not going to go. I'll have to look back at the Greece pictures again. You all can look at the Greece pictures if you want; the link is at the left.

So, it seems that a tropical storm/hurricane is heading our way. Tomorrow should make for an interesting day. I'm just glad that I work from home tomorrow because even if nothing happens like it did with H.Rita, the people in the city tend to go crazy.

So for all of you possibly affected...remember the three P's, pets, plants, and people.....wait....that's for freezing weather. Hmmmm...ok how about stop, drop, and roll....nope....that's for someone who's burning. Is there something for hurricanes? Not sure on that one. :)

In all seriousness, I'll use these 3 P's for hurricanes,
Prepare.
Protect.
Pray.

Everyone have a great week!
marlaI can't believe it's been 4 years since you were in Athens...and God keep y'all during the storm! :)

Banana bread and Starbucks 07-16-08 08:10am CST
My awesome wife made banana bread and I have the pleasure of eating it for breakfast this morning. My dad brought me a Starbucks Frap drink this morning too, so in addition to my banana bread, I'm drinking some awesome coffee.
I think it's going to be a good day...or I think I'm just going to be hopped up on sugar for awhile.
Anyways...I hope you all have a great day!

EDIT...my crazy-cool brother had a part in getting me the coffee. I must make sure to give credit where credit is due. Thanks bro! /edit

emails and job op 07-10-08 09:02am CST
Ok, so I got to work on Monday and the number of emails that I had to go through was:

336

Yep, that's a lot. It was a good thing that I didn't have to read ALL of them, but it was a chore none-the-less.

----
Job Opportunity for any Houston area IT person.
My company is looking for a desktop support person and so I thought I'd throw this basic info out here for any lurkers that may be interested or know someone looking for a job.
I'll simply say it's a desktop support / jr. server admin job. Microsoft certifications and some experience are a must. Leave a comment on my blog with your email addy letting me know that you are interested and I'll contact you to get the resume.
Thanks.

Everyone enjoy the rest of the week!

Back home 07-06-08 10:54am CST
We are back home from our trip. It was wonderful, but reality will be coming for me tomorrow when I go back to work. I have yet to see how many emails I have waiting for me in my inbox.

So, since I'll be busy this week, I'll make my early week post a little earlier than normal.

Everyone have a great week!

EDIT:
Since some have decided to guess how many emails I will have in my inbox, I think that sounds like a fun idea. So if you want to leave a comment and guess how many emails I will have in my inbox, then you can do so.
By the way, my inbox was empty when I left for vacation.
laughing_eyesi'm guessing 187 emails.
