Is it just me or do holidays and birthdays become even more exciting after having kids? I don't think I've ever cared as much about Halloween as I did this year. Normally, I don't bother with going to the pumpkin patch. And carving the pumpkin? Ew. I can't stand those stringy pumpkin guts and the smell is enough to gag me. But this year I couldn't wait to do the pumpkin thing!! I'm pretty sure Miss K had a good time:
I must give credit where credit is due: Mom actually cut the top off the pumpkin and emptied the nasty guts for me. Although I didn't actually ask her to do it, I was pretty happy that I didn't have to. Yay! Thanks, Mom!
Trick or Treating was also a whole new experience this year. I summoned all of my creative energy and fashioned a fabulous peacock costume for Kennedy to wear. Some might argue that she looked more like a Vegas Showgirl, but I assure you that was not my intention. I'll let my fellow Pleo People make the call:
Fabulous Feathered Peacock OR Vegas Showgirl Floozy?
She looks totally cute - did you see the pics of Ella? To bad they couldnt have been togehter...we missed having ya'll at the haloween party this year!
Thats so great! I'm so happy for you that you get to do that - I bet taht helps provide entertainment for Kennedy too! - I'm glad you've got something like that, are you still liking SC? I hear like everyone and their mom is back there now! Who knew your parents would start a movement!
After Kennedy's party I said I'd post some pictures of the big bash... I just never got around to it. However, since so much time has passed, I actually have lots of pictures to share! Below you can find the links to my galleries of:

Hmm... I'm sensing a theme here. Sorry to those of you who might have been expecting a post that was not Kennedy-related.
I still can't believe she's a year old!!! And I'm getting insprired by that party. We're doing black and white with polka dots, daisies, and red accents for the wedding :)
YES they did...there was alot of fun stuff along with the dinner...I told your mom about it..you will have to ask her the different roles the dads played...
I can hardly believe it... one year ago today my sweet baby girl was born. I've heard people talk about how fast time goes once you have children, but I never expected this. Although I'm happy that she's growing and learning and I'm excited about upcoming milestones, I can't help but wish time would slow down just a bit. Oh well... such is life I suppose. God blessed me with a healthy, happy daughter, and for that I am thankful. Oh, plus she's cute, in case you didn't know...
Today, with Mom's help, I threw Kennedy a 1st birthday party - polka dot style! Friends & family came from all around to help us celebrate. Kennedy got to eat her very first m&m (which she loved) as well as a jumbo cupcake (which she did not love.) Once again, she proved to be her mother's daughter when the messy frosting bothered her too much to enjoy the sweet treat. I promise I didn't teach her to be that way... she just comes by it naturally. She got lots of cute (much needed) winter clothes and some fun books and toys. She got her first baby doll that came with its very own stroller, which she immediately pushed all around the house. Overall I'd say the party was a success!
Some family members invited K & I to spend a week in Hilton Head Island, SC with them, so we are heading there now. Once I get home I'll post pics of the birthday girl in her pretty polka dot dress... unless she beats me to it!
Hope the rest of you are having as fabulous a weekend as I am!
I promise I won't post any birthday pictures. I'll let you enjoy all the pleasure of that. And also of removing ALL the decorations when you return from your vacation!!
You're right about the time flying - we can't believe this first year has already come and gone. We need to move closer by so we don't miss out so much on the rest of her life!
the party was a big sucess and you did great decorating and planning it. i was very impressed. i am so blessed that i get to wake up every morning to your sweet little 1 year old's smooshie face.
Yes, yes, I know my last entry was a video. Unlike him my blogs are not very meaty. So, "why another video?" you may be asking... well, this one is pretty significant. Take a look for yourself.
On a related note: I can't belive my baby will turn ONE next month. It has been the fastest year of my life...
Zeus is good. We ended up taking him to the emergency vet and he had to get a little shot. But he's back to normal now. Jess got some pics of him, we'll have to send them to you if she hasn't already.
Honestly the bath pic looks just like Sir Jon. Not sure I want to see him in the bath. Saw Zues last night. He's so cute and loving. He's staying at a house full of women you know.
That dvd of K will be our treasured possession forever!!! Thank you so much for making it and sending it to us - it was so neat to watch the progression.
No, not yet! (shes still sleeping w/us some!) I found the bed on craigs list and decided to go ahead and get it bc/ alicia (nicks sister) is going to be moving out here and staying w/us for a while...she has a ways to go on that one!
It was so nice to finally meet you this weekend! Little Kennedy is just adorable! I was hoping to visit with you some more but I had to leave the reception early to take my daughter to the ER.
Yeah, she had a massive panic attack and I had to take her to the ER. She's fine now but she was really in a bad way that night. I missed pretty much the entire reception - I was VERY bummed!
ha ha defintely!! Candee was telling me she saw you at the wedding sounds like your doing good! I'm so happy for you guys - glad everythign is working out out there..isnt the south great?? :)
Did you see that Nordstoms has purchased E.L.F. and is changing the name to their own brand? You can order any of the makeup with the E.L.F. logo on it for $1. I remember you posing about this a long time ago with a different brand. Made me think of you!
