Been a while so I thought I would update. It is so hard to believe my little man has started first grade. He is doing really well and already has a little girlfriend. He is one of those rare kids that love school. Hopefully he will stay that way. He is too smart for his own good too and he said one of the little girls in his class told him he was a genius lol.
The first day, Madison kept saying all day, "lets go see what Nay-nee (what she calls Nathan) doin" I kept having to tell her he wasn't home that he was at school. She kept yelling for him, "Nay-nee, where are you?" The second day, she put her little backpack on and wanted to go with him. She misses him during the day and waits for him to get off the bus and gets so excited. They grow too fast.
Madison informed me the other day she wants to be called "Maddy Grace" If you ask her her name, she will tell you "Madison Grace" and we call her Maddy, Madison, or Gracie. The other day when I called her Maddy, she said "I Maddy Grace" I said can I call you Maddy?" "No" "How about Gracie?" "No" "Well what do you want us to call you, what do you want your name to be?" "Maddy Grace".....Ok
The other day she came downstairs and was twirling around and said "I Princess Maddy Grace" The day before that she was a mermaid, go figure! She has become so girly. She loves dressing up in her princess dress up clothes and she is always dancing and singing and oh man drumming! She is into being a drummer. She will use anything for sticks and a drum. The other day, I finally bought her a little drum at a consignment sale for $1 and she loves it. She will drum and close her eyes and start singing moving her head around. She is so goofy. She is reallllly into Hannah Montana right now and sings it all the time.
Neal went back to work last night. He has been off work for 2 months because he hurt his back pretty bad. It still isn't 100% better but he had to go back because short term disability ended and we have bills lol. I know he is tired after not being use to working 3rd shift for 2 months. Madison wouldn't sleep last night, she kept thinking he was downstairs and would say "I gonna go see Daddy-O (that's what she likes to call him) I told her he wasn't here and was at work. She started crying and said "Uh see Daddy-O" "I need Daddy-O" She was up all night and fell asleep when he got home at 7 this morning.
In other great news, I went to my parents house last night to get some clothes they got Madison and when I was buckling Maddy into the car and laid my phone on the roof of the car for some stupid reason since I have never done that before. Well needless to say I drove off with it up there, got all the way down the road before it fell off when I turned a corner. I got further down the road before I realized what I did but by the time I came back, it had already been ran over. Sooooo now I have no phone. I have insurance but don't want to (and can't afford) the $50 to file the insurance claim so I am looking on ebay for cheap phones since our contract is up in November anyway and I can get a new phone then and since we are thinking of switching carriers, there's really no reason to pay that much for a phone to use for just a couple of months.
So anyway, that's my update. Oh and I have 3 people wanting me to do their pictures, one maternity, one family, and one family Christmas pictures, the maternity one will be scheduling anytime and the others when family come in so I am excited about all that. My cousin does this big consignment sale twice a year in spring and fall and I helped out at it setting up Thursday and working it on Saturday. Well she let me put some of my business cards out and half of them were grabbed up so maybe I will get some business out of that too. (My calls are being forwarded to Neal's phone so at least I won't miss any potential business lol)
So anyway I finally updated. I will try not to make it almost another month until I do it again! |

We've had a nice weekend. We took a little family road trip down to Louisianna. We traveled through Nashville, stopped at Opry Mills where the kids got a toy and shirt from the Disney Outlet and Nathan loved seeing the fish in Bass Pro. Then it was on through Memphis where my son saw these huge gigantic tall crosses along the way to which he said "Woah! If Jesus were up there, he'd be HUGE!" LOL
Then it was on to Arkansas (where we discovered there is really nothing there lol) then to North Little Rock where we spent the night and we got lucky and the hotel was pretty empty and no one was at the pool so the kids got to go swimming in the indoor pool the following morning. Madison is definitely a little fish, not afraid of water and all and thought she could just do it all by herself even though Daddy was in there with her, T-shirt and all, just so she could have fun with big brother.
Then it was on through Little Rock and then to Hope Ark. where my husband the US. History and Presidents nerd had to stop at Pres. Clinton's boyhood home. That's one of his goals is to visit all the homes and Presidential Libraries.
From Hope, we went on to Louisiana where we met the people we were going to meet and Neal preached for the church there Sunday morning and evening.
We spent Sat and Sunday night in LA and left out Monday morning where we went over the bridge to go into Texas, just because none of us had ever been, then we headed for Little Rock Ark where this time we stopped and visited the Clinton Library. After spending about an hour and a half there, we headed out and stopped at a place in Carlisle, Arkansas called Nick's Bar-B-Q & Catfish. If you are ever in that area, definitely stop, it's well worth it!!
After that we headed on home. All in all the trip is about 13 hour drive but with potty breaks along the way and stops we left Logansport around 11:30 and got home about 5 am. Even though it was long, it was very enjoyable playing road games, listening to Disney songs, talking and laughing on our first real family road trip. Then yesterday, we went to the Louisville Zoo so the kids could have some fun and play in the water park. Though tiring at times, it has definitely been an enjoyable weekend/week to say the least and I know the kids have had a blast.

Nathan got to go to Cub Scouts Day Camp this past week. He had a blast. I went with him 3 days and Neal 3 (we both went Friday)
They got to do so much stuff. Archery, BB Guns, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, train ride, made crafts, rode a boat simulator, and played various sports. They learned so much too. The had a visit from the electric company and learned about electricity safety, a visit from a firetruck and Smokey the Bear and learned about fire safety, learned to tie different knots, first aid and Heimlich Maneuver, U.S. Flag etiquette and they got to watch a flag retirement ceremony. So much stuff! He had a blast and I did too. Cub Scouts is great for him. He can't wait to get all of his badges and belt loops and just loves to learn all the stuff. I encourage any of you who have son's in the first grade (or going into the first grade) and up to join your local Cub Scouts/ Boy Scouts. It will be a great experience for them, I promise!
Check out my Remembered Images Pleo for some pictures from my latest photo session!
