true. There were only little boys going for the garter. I thought it was because the older guys saw who caught the bouquet, so THEY stayed in their seats.
Let me say one thing right up front
I want to make sure that I'm clear
I honestly appreciate
I mean, I think it's really great
That you enjoy my poetry
And all the stuff I'm put on here
And what you've said, especially
The compliments and all the praise
Though I don't think it's all deserved
I'm thankful for it, sincerely
Let that be plainly understood
That being said, don't take offense
Or spam my blog with rude comments
When I tell you that, honestly
I don't think I can claim to be

Or maybe two, or maybe more
To keep the rhythm going smooth
A crucial part of poetry)
That talented at writing verse
That is to say, my poetry
I don't think that it's very good
In fact, I'd even say, I think
My poems, well, they kind of stink
ps-- I think some things will never be understood in this life, and a lot of people hide their pain by acting like they do understand. It's better to have faith and be content (as much as one can), than it is to exhaust a life looking for answers and getting frustrated. (I'm preaching to myself here...)
I wrote this several years ago. I couldn't write "normal" rhyming poetry to save my life, but occasionally the words will flow in their own unique style, be it good or bad. :)
Thanks for all the appreciative comments on my poetry! I'm glad so many people enjoy it, because I have a really good time writing it.
Unfortunately I have not had much inspiration recently. I wish I could write something right now, but you can't force poetry you know. You can bet that I'll start writing as soon as I have an idea.
My life's been okay lately. There are a few things I'd like to be different, but nothing I'll complain about.
I've often thought about writing as a career, but I know that I'd be staring at the keyboard thinking "I have to write SOMETHING" and nothing would come. It only comes with inspiration - at least in my case.
