What a unique name. I'm sure Katie is thrilled. He looks like a cat that we used to have. They say the orange cats are the most friendliest and have the most personality.
Hurray for the Kitty...he's got a home & a family!!! And concrats to you too...we are both GREAT Aunts of Ryder Lee, Clara Lee, and now TESSA DAWN! YIPPEE!!!
Thankyou! Congrats on your kitty. I lost my two cats this year - two months apart, one was a kitten and one was almost 10. We had a huge problem with coyotes this year.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. It's hard as the family gets smaller, but, we're going over to some brethren's house and there will be over 20 people!
What are your plans?
This week has been busy but not as stressful as last week. We had a bride & groom come view their wedding movie on Sunday, so we were scrambling to finish it. They loved it so that was good news. We still have two more weddings to edit and then we shoot another wedding next Saturday. That will then make three weddings to edit. Whew!! I've also been having trouble with my right hand. I went to the chiropractor yesterday and he adjusted my spine as well as my hand and arm. He said I definitely have "repetitive motion" issues in my right wrist. He wants to see me again next week. He gave me some exercises to stretch the muscles/tendons in the wrist. I think it is already a little better.
Katie found a kitten yesterday. She, of course, is super excited; however, we have told Katie she can't keep it. I know, we're so mean. No more animals!! One dog is enough. The kitty is awfully cute. I have not held him at all because I know it will be love at first sight. She takes him to the SPCA today. I'll need to prepare for the flowing of tears.
Hi Paula! Hope you're all doing well. Sorry to hear about your wrist though. Better stop slappin' Rich across the face. That can do a number on your wrist action! :)
oh come on...kitties are great at keeping the mice away. Well, at least where we live. We couldn't live without a cat on our property or we would be overrun by rodents.
We have 3 kitties...2 were from the Animal Shelter...in fact, our 3rd kitty is a new addition as of July. Named him Mr.Knightly cuz he's all black. He lets me cuddle him & kiss on him so I'm glad I have him especially with all the kids gone. They help de-stress you...hey, by petting the kitty you could exercise your muscles/tendons in your wrist. Could be good for you!
What? you didn't call Barry before you took it? We had to put down Mittens - she was 19 years old - and you might just have been able to twist his arm...
I'm home today and loving it!! Even though I'm doing finances, laundry and some errands, at least things are getting done, and that's makes me feel better. Don't get me wrong, I like my job as an Admin, but when things are not getting done at home, I feel very bad inside. I try to take seriously my God given responsibility of being a "keeper at home". God is so wise. He knew that us women feel better about ourselves when we take care of our family.
Have a wonderful week everyone!! Pray often and thank God for our many blessings.
I know I haven't updated in a while, but this summer has been crazy. I feel like I am wearing so many hats these days, that I'm getting a headache just thinking about it. :) Wife, mom, elder's wife, director, editor, and administrative assistant. Sometimes I feel I'm not doing any of them very well. Housework is almost non-existent. Katie helps me but it's the little things that drive me crazy, i.e. the kitchen counter, will it ever look organized? Will the laundry room be free of clothes to be washed and put away? I am grateful that I have a kitchen counter and clothes, though. To hear of the suffering in countries like Zimbabwe, my problems seem so very small. Please pray for our brethren over there. They need our fervent prayers.
Anyway, take care everyone. Have a good rest of the summer.
Hi...I don't wear near as many hats as you but I know I can feel overwhelmed at times too. It usually comes in waves of complete hectic "everything happening at once" craziness & then nothing...and then along comes another wave. I know about the "housework" thing. I remember a woman I knew once saying the thing about housework is that it just doesn't "stay" done. You just know you are going to see that clean dish you just put away or that freshly pressed shirt again real soon. Keep in touch!
We made brownies!=) we also made our pizza. we tried makeing our owen pizza dough but it didn't taste good. So we thik that the yeast was bad. so we went and got some from nugget!
thank you! and i know stuart was so glad to get to spend time with some people from home. he said he really enjoyed it. thank you for taking him to lunch!
Hi, Paula!!! Dawndi here!! How are you all doing? Where are you? CA still?? We are in Idaho and my youngest is a senior this year. Hailey is getting married next month and Chelsie will be starting the nursing program. Rich is still working on computers and he is preaching and teaching class for our very small congregation. I work part time as an orthodontic tech. That is us in a nutshell. Let me hear from you.
Hi, Paula. I picked up your blog on Chandra's. Katie is so pretty & it is hard to think she has graduated now. I hope things settle down for you sometimebut somehow with all those hats you are wearing it won't anytime soon. Maybe I can keep up with you here. Love ya
Hey again, Dawndi here. The wedding is Oct. 25th. They are getting married in Loren and Virginia Mann's backyard. I am so happy for Steven. I have a picture of him at about two years old, holding my newborn Hailey. Time sure flies. Sounds like you are very busy. Take care.
I can't believe my baby is graduating in two weeks. It seems like only yesterday when she started Kindergarten. God has blessed us with her. She is a very good girl and we're so proud of her. She wants to stay home and go to the community college this first year and will think about FC her second year. She is looking for a job so she can buy a car. Another big step in her life. Oh my, not sure Mom can handle all the changes! It's life, though. Please pray for her success in everything she does.
About the only memory I have of Katie is about 11 years ago in your house, when you first moved to Folsom and we were moving to Tucson. She is a lil' bit older these days. I guess that happens!
Being a full time wife! It's wonderful :) I actually iron shirts now, haha. But I have been doing some work with some elderly women from church each week.
Wow, Paula! She is soooo grown up!! She was just a baby when you guys left Valley! Do you remember the "Chinese Rooster" message you got from Steven? That was the funniest thing ever. You were taking care of newborn Katie at the time! Congrats to her and hope to see you guys sometime soon!
what a beautiful picture of katie! i'm actualy leaving on the 9th! i hate it that i will just miss you. stuart will still be here, though, so i'm sure he'd love to see you both.
What a sweet blog and a sweet picture! My youngest daughter, Laura, just turned 15 and got her permit. So, I can relate to the "where has the time gone" thing.....
All I can say is... WOW. Beautiful and so different from the Katie I met when you first moved to our area in CA. That was forever ago I know, but it seems like yesterday to me.
Hi ya Paula...thanks for welcoming me to Pleo!! What a beauty Katie is! I remember meeting her for the first time at Kayleen's wedding and how she & my daughter Kelli hit it off right away. Kelli will be going to FC for her 2nd year. She & Jim leave Aug 1st to make the drive and then son Jeff will follow 2 wks later after some oral surgery here. Right now Jeffh is at the Singing School in OK with Tim & Vicki. The last time he went there was when he was 3 yrs old so Jim & I feel sure he will get more out of it this time....he texted & said he was enjoying the "pool" there. Ha! So....Jim & I will be "Empty Nesters" for a 2nd time this year. And just to let you know...we had a great time but I don't tell my kids that. Ha! Hey, I'm so glad we will be able to keep in touch in a whole new way here!!
