I had a very productive weekend. I got a lot of things accomplished. The two most exciting things, though... Jonathan and I bought a Christmas tree (wow, loot!) and tickets to go see the Trans-Siberian orchestra on December 21st! Whoo! We decided this year that instead of buying presents for each other, we'd go to the concert, have a nice dinner, y'know - go on a DATE. (Crazy concept, I know.)
Normally the tradition with my family has always been to decorate for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend when everyone is together and can help out. But this year, I'm super anxious for Christmastime. Things are really tough all around me lately - everyone's feeling the burn of the current times, and it's just so gloomy! Christmas always puts me in a good mood, so I'm ready to start NOW! So, since Jonathan and I will be out of town Thanksgiving weekend with our families, I decided that it'd be a great b-day present (to myself :P) to decorate the weekend after my birthday (aka this coming weekend). See? There's logic in there, too. Now, if I can just resist decorating my cubicle for Christmas until after Thanksgiving...
I love decorating for Christmas. Jennie and I already put our tree up. And I love the idea of what you and Jonathan are doing for Christmas- so sweet! :)
I *did* finally get to the lake with Jonathan. We just went exploring the trails and little cliffs. It was a nice change from sitting in the house all day on a Saturday.
Of course, now we're back to video games, and we're re-playing FFX. :) It brings back a lot of good memories. We played it together one summer when we were both still in school, with nothing else to worry about but finding all the ultimate weapons and making sure we made it all the way around the sphere grid (you fanboys and fangirls know what I'm talking about!). Ah, those really were the good ol' days.
So now we play an hour here and an hour there as opposed to, y'know, ALL DAY.
I've been learning some more difficult lessons at work this week. As my great boss has pointed out, the things I'm learning are life lessons, and it's tough learning them at all, let alone learning how they're applied to the corporate life at the same time. But I'm really fortunate to have supportive coworkers (and bosses!). They've been patient, and I've been determined to make it through.
God reminded me in His own way yesterday that I must be content where I am and do my job as an assistant to the best of my ability! I think I can do it. :)
I know! I saw the magazine at walmart last night... I *almost* bought it, but thought that I'd wait until I got my next pay check to order them. :)
I'm glad you and Johnathan got around to going to the lake. Seems like since school started, Tim and I haven't been able to do things we'd like to do. Either we have to mow the lawn, or *something* on saturdays that keeps us from doing what we want. I am surprising him this up-coming saturday though. He's just dying to know what we're doing. :)
I only ever got two of the ultimate weapons the first time I played it. Now, he has a friend who tried to fill up every single slot of the Sphere Grid with every character. I hope that's not what you're trying to do. :b
i almost forgot about that video. I actually have it on my computer. It's so gay.... I'd like to make some more but I don't have a video recorder really.
So, my six-year anniversary with JB was last Tuesday. We didn't get to do anything exciting that day. We cooked a dinner of soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (simple and delicious) and that was about it. So we decided we'd go to the lake this past weekend and have a picnic and go explore the hiking trails and all in honor of our anniversay. :) (You know, we just moved practically ON the lake - you'd think we would've gone to visit it by now. :P) Well, the sick bug decided that Friday would be a GREAT day to attack Jonathan, and that's just what it did. He has some kind of a head cold or something.
Needless to say, no trip to the lake.
But we did cook an awesome dinner together on Saturday, chili-lime pork tenderloin (mmm!) and herb-stuffed tomatoes. It was hard work but it was SO good.
And then we played a seek-and-find game on the computer for a good five hours (aah, to waste time!). So, no formal celebrating, but it's nice to have Jonathan close by all the time, anniversary celebration or no.

As a side note for all you girls out there, you need to check out AllYou magazine. It's full of coupons (I cut about 20 out of the last issue), recipes, tips on organizing, shopping smart, etc. And it doesn't have any of the junk that other "girl" magazines have. It's all helpful, clean, awesome stuff! That's where I got the recipes for the pork and tomatoes. It's great!
Sorry, I know - random plug. :P

I hope everyone's doing well. Leave me a note! :) And have a great week!
We'd have a serious world shortage of great math theorems then. I only took six pages for my scratch work. I've heard of theorems whose proofs extend nearly two hundred pages; that's the finished version! Imagine how much scratch paper must have been used for that.
Hey, a girl in my class brought a magazine in the other day... and it was *really* nice. I'm not an adventerous cook, but the recipes in there took under an hour to make and they looked *really* good. If you go to kraftfoods.com you have to sign up and select the option that you want the magazine.
They send it to you 4 times a year (one for every season) and it's COMPLETELY free! I think that's what sold me on it. :) Free is good.
hey,
do you know of any halloween themed recipees? or, know of a place that I could get some? I'd like to try to be a little more creative this season ... with *finally* having a house I have an area to decorate and have room for people to come over! :)
I have a sweet gamer room which I have not yet had time to take full advantage of. (Yes, Nick, I just ended my sentence in a preposition. Just for you.) The best part? My Guitar Hero controllers hanging on the wall.
Work was a little less stressful this week. Thank God for that. My inbox is down to TWO at the moment, although I know it'll be a mess when I return to work on Tuesday.
It's been raining a lot. Not that good, fresh summer rain. That icky, gray, make-you-want-to-sleep rain.
Jonathan and I are going to Arab tonight. Jen's wedding is on Friday. :)
I have to spend Labor Day weekend out of town, busy busy busy, then cleaning the old apartment with Nick. I wish I could just relax. Maybe Monday.
Hope everyone's doing well. :) Have a safe holiday weekend!
Game room! Whoo! My house is going to have one of those. With a plush couch and a coffee table that's kept clean so we'll always have somewhere to put our coffee.
