Hey 08-27-08 09:43pm CST
concert went well! So many people in Bowling Green! Best turnout I've had! Thanks to all who helped spread the word, and who came to see me!
I even got Joel to videotape it for me so i can post some of it on here! I'm excited about that!

Wow, I just read the above paragraph, and it was full of short exclamations, thus becoming choppy and annoying to read. Sorry.

Aaaah, politics. I tire of you.

Love
Emily
sjbgurlYay! I'm glad it went well :)

Why does the attempt to do something different bring about negativity? 08-13-08 09:13am CST
I have a show tonight after church, and I'm getting slightly nervous. So far all my shows (a whole two of them) have been in the same coffeeshop. Now I'm moving on to a different venue. Then I have another show Saturday somewhere else. I'm excited about it on top of my nervousness, and I think it will go well. I just wish I had a video camera so I could tape it and put it on youtube!

This is really my thing, my niche in life aside from serving Christ, and I find great joy in being able to perform for people. Maybe it shows my need for attention and self-centeredness, but I know it is my strength among many weaknesses, and it is where I am at my best. To be a professional singer-songwriter and to come to find much success at it is turning out to be difficult (I've only been at it a few months), but, Lord Willing, I can do it. I just need to keep working at it until I find the right people at the right time. And keep my priorities straight. I find that I'm improving every day, and am discovering more and more ways of making my performance better. I hope that I will continue to grow and improve as God allows me to continue.

A Question on the side: How many people think it's crazy to move to Japan?

Love
Emily

sjbgurlGood luck :) I'm sure you'll do fine!

*raises hand* I think it would be crazy but at the same time insanely exhilarating to move to Japan :)
krazykriznI don't think I'd want to move to Japan... that would be a long flight!
desiYou can do it!! We'll pull through it together! It's difficult to get any business started on your own :)
i_am_a_sheephey Emily!! I 'm sure that the music biz is going to work out, even if you just do it for fun:) and Moving to Japan would be insanely awesome!! I've even thought about for myself:P
megan_leigeberi think it would be interesting to move to japan, but it would also been lonely and whatnot. have you ever seen lost in translation?
sparkerlots of people are against change; thus the negativity

personally I can be for and against change depending on what type of chance

and I don't think moving to Japan is crazy, it sounds like fun
kitkatROFL -- it's pretty crazy to move to Japan...but, if you have a chance to try it, why not? i think for me it would depend a lot on how much christian support i would have over there, but it could also be a good place for you to 'share the wealth.' I'm so happy you are working on your music!! That's EXCITING! I think I would feel that way sometimes too -- that it is "self-centered" or wanting attention. But someone recently said that you need to find what "fills you up" in life and then figure out how you can use that to serve God -- being "filled up" and doing the things that you're naturally good at and naturally enjoy makes it easier to serve God, a lot of the time.

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto 08-01-08 11:32am CST
If anybody knows how I can get in contact with the preacher in Japan, that would be really great. I was able to find three churches in Japan, two of which are run by what looks to be like an American father and son because they share the same first and last name. with different middle initials, But, I don't know any information besides that. Just doing a little research, I'll explain later.

I really wish I had a professional recording studio that wasn't in an apartment. I feel so limited in my abilities to accomplish what I want to accomplish. If I had a lot of money, finding good equipment and good help to record something worth listening to would be no problem. It is frustrating to feel like you are ready to go to the next level, but are unable to because of something trivial like money.
Ah well.

I had a job interview at a temp agency the other day, and they are currently looking for an office job for me. then I can hopefully make enough money to afford the equipment I need, and a better place to record that is not an apartment where I am constantly concerned that my music will annoy people and outside noises and what not.

Well, that's all for now,
Love
Emily
desiI hope they find you a nice job :)
sjbgurlEverything will work out, I'm sure!
i_am_a_sheephey!! I'm sure that when you get famous and stuff, this will make a good interview story:)
sjbgurlMe too! Yeah.. haha I have most of my stuff packed already. I'm not sure how we're gonna fit all this stuff in our van :P

New Song 07-22-08 08:38am CST
Hey, I normally don't post two posts so close together, but I added a new song and I wanted to post it. When I was sixteenish I wrote a little jazzy song that I never really finished and it was very sloppy. So, I recently decided to make something of it. It's called "Don't Tell Me You Know Me by Heart" And is the last one in the widget below. Hope you like it! This one is especially for my brother Nathan.

Love
Emily
