dbsmelserthanks for the scca events tip - I've already got them linked (middle georgia scca), but I figured nobody there would want to put up with somebody inexperienced...figured I'd have to do some learning first.

Yeah, that was probably my grandparents (maternal). They both died in 99, just a few months apart. Sorry about your mom - you lost yours much earlier than I lost mine. My Mom had colon cancer, died just after yours - July 02. It was stage 4 by the time she got sick and diagnosed. If you know someone who likes to read, my dad wrote a book about her life. He really did a great job with it - he had good material. :)

An observation. 06-26-08 12:33pm CST
It is hard to telecommute when your cable (modem and TV) keeps dropping out every 5 minutes.

Thanks, Charter! This is just what I wanted to deal with today.

Mandatory In-Car Breathalyzers Coming? 06-24-08 04:27pm CST
Eric Peters asks, If you’re not a convicted drunk driver, should you still be required to have an in-car breathalyzer fitted (at your expense, ‘natch) to your next new vehicle?

Very good article on the nanny culture that's taken over our lives.
spimmanDid you see the law they're passing at Lay Lake where you have to wear a life jacket when within 20 feet of the water?
autataliciousyou have a problem.

The WSJ gets it! 06-16-08 11:24am CST
Change We Can Believe In

"...And the areas with the worst problems today are areas that have the most government interference – education, health care and energy.

The best course of action is to allow a free-market economy to reallocate resources to the place of highest returns. In the midst of all the natural change, the last thing the U.S. economy needs is more government involvement, whether it's called change or not."
spimmanSo you're telling me not to go into manufacturing

Good stuff

"U.S. foreign policy has nothing to do with it. They hate us for our freedom. Thankfully, our government is working tirelessly to eliminate that source of antagonism." --Dave Krueger
