if you like eclectic art then this is a piece for you...
original oil painting
3 feet wide 2 feet tall
orange is textured (all of the grooves in the orange's surface are indented)
edges are painted a bark blue - its a little difficult to see that in the pictures.
wow! I really like the orange (orange spheres were a common theme in my college-year art), I'm impressed greatly with the consistency of the background blue and white wavy lines. Very cool
why is it that when most "normal" people go to sleep all that comes on tv is infomercials? are insomniacs just so loaded with money that they only market to people with sleep disorders? so far tonight i have watched commercials for the time life doo-wop collection, barefoot science - arch activation system, magicjack, and melt it off. BUT WAIT... now that you have watched this program for 30 minutes, heard us repeat everything at least three times, have considered making 5 monthly payments of 30.00, YOU can receive the most amazing free product in the entire world - only pay shipping and handling and processing fees... but ONLY if you call NOW.
THIS is an unprecedented offer. this special offer has NEVER been offered on tv before. this offer is NOT available in stores. this is an UNBELIEVABLE value. now if that wasn't exciting exciting enough.. this is ABSOLUTELY free. if you are not TOTALLY in love with this product you send it back no questions asked! this will save you SO much money. you will fall in LOVE with the savings.
BUT WAIT.. if you call in the next five minutes we will reduce the price by 10.00 and include a second free gift that is almost as incredible as the first free gift... but you must pay in full with a credit card.
i just find it disturbing that i start off thinking how lame the product and the presenters are and then by the end im like, this WILL change my life for the better--laundry will never be the same again!
its been a while since i have felt like posting. not a whole lot has been going on.
i spend most of my time at work.
i was hoping that my painting would be finished by now, but i am still waiting on it to dry to take care of some detail work. thats the downside of working with oil paint - if you don't mix it it can take forever and ever to dry.
i have all sorts of projects in my head, but i never seem to have the time to complete them. i have ideas for making bedspreads for mine and nate's bed and the two twin beds in the guest bedroom. the thing about that though is that the cats are likely to destroy them with their claws.
last week i hosted "Name That Tune" with music from the 30s, 40s, and 50s for a group of seniors... i thought i had made a good selection of music.. most of it i knew myself so i thought it was a sure thing that they would know it, but i was wrong. they complained that that rock n roll music from the 50s was NOT their music and said they wanted music from the 20s. *sigh. i am going to try it again in a couple weeks and throw in some more 20s. maybe they won't hit me with their canes this time.
last night i hit rem sleep and had a really weird dream. nate drove off a bridge in our car and had disabled the locks on the door so that i couldn't get out on my side. he pulled out a gun and told me that if i tried to get out he would shoot me when i got to the top.. and that no one would ever suspect that he had anything to do with it because i can't swim and it will just look like an accident. he swam out and i was in a complete panic as the car filled with water. i decided that if i did swim up and he did shoot me there was a chance they would figure out that he was involved so i went for it. i swam up to the top of the water and over to a tree that was sticking up out of the water... all the while nate was shooting at me. somehow i ended up at my childhood home and had found a gun of my own. when nate came through the doorway i shot him in the back of the head. he was still alive and trying to get up and kill me regardless of all the blood and ick coming out of his head. i called an ambulance and went out to the edge of the driveway to wave them in, but they went right past me. thats when i woke up.
what does that one mean?
i haven't been very good at returning my phone calls recently, so if you have called me and not heard back from me i am sorry and will eventually call you back :).
have a happy saturday.
*the title from nate laying on the couch making dinosaur hands moving around in a panic saying hey hey mug look i am a dinosaur on its back that can't get up... hey hey mug look i'm falling off a cliff - as he rolls off the couch and onto the floor.
your dreams sound like mine a little. i'm always having to fight or shoot or torture my way out of a dangerous situation. greg usually isnt there though, which i blame him for when i wake up.
for some reason i haven't really been talking much about my job to anyone so i haven't felt like posting about it either. it is very different from what i am used to doing and it will take some getting used to, but i do like the company - so it should be ok. we'll see what happens when i am done training.
probably everyone that reads my blog has already heard that there is a new moyer baby - and that this time they had a beautiful baby girl. yay for them.
i should have another painting done soon. i keep getting distracted from finishing. i will probably post it on here when i am finished.
still not sleeping... but it could be worse.
if you have any terrible motorcycle stories please share them with nate.
i bought a mac and we are very happy together. i also got an ipod touch and its pretty awesome too.
well...my brother is a quadriplegic as a result from a motorcycle....totally chenged our lived forever. You could always tell him that and if you like I could go into further detail and explain to him how much more difficult our lives are because of the results of the accident.
As I understand it, Jan used to routinely share doozies of motorcycle stories from her work in the ER. Maybe he was too young at the time, but I'm sure she remembers several and would be happy to share. ;)
I REALLY don't like motorcycles but I also know lots of people who love them as inexpensive/practical transportation if you are in a good climate and area...sigh...my mother was right..."you can't win". you know, these days there are cars that get close to the same milage and are better for "all weather" and they don't fall on you and burn big holes in you... of course the chances of crashing under big trucks and leaving your footprint ON THE BOTTOM of the truck and most of you blood on the road and in your helmet rather than in your body, can be minimized by not driving like a maniac /or drinking liquor before trying to go somewhere..............
every other weekend greg has sundays off so maybe sunday afternoon would be a good time to hang out. plus i could pick your brain a little. (im told it doesnt hurt just tickles.)
So, have either of you been able to take the new wheels for a spin yet, or do you plan on riding?
I have a friend who enjoyed riding with her husband until she got pregnant. Now that the baby is here they can go out sometimes, but - you know, there isn't really room for an infant seat. ;)
Saw your entry about desiring MC wreck stories. Most MC wrecks involve one vehicle. The driver had not taken a training course and was not ready to be out there. Most other involving 2 vehicles and the larger one hits the MC. Again, many of the MC riders here, had not had the Defensive Training for MC riders. It is totally different and more intense than drivers ed. Plus, most MC riders did not wear armored riding gear.
