I finally passed my RD exam yesterday. Why I chose to do it on election day, I'm not sure, but I PASSED! YAY! Thank you for the wished luck!.
In other news, the election is finally over! I will not say anything about the new president-elect. The only thing I will say is "IT'S FINALLY OVER! YIPPEEE!" This election was causing way too much stress in my life, to the point where I tried NOT to read the news or turn on the TV for the past week. I voted, I did my part, America chose, and that's that!
The next few things on my giant list of things to do are as follows:
- Apply to graduate school
- Clean my house, which has fallen apart while studying like crazy
- Find some time to get doctor, dentist, optometrist, vet appointments done
- Start my 90-day bible reading today
Have a GREAT WEDNESDAY! Treat yourself by NOT watching the news! You deserve to relax today!
First of all...my sweet sweet relative (I love being "related" to you! You help make me proud to be a Nerland!)...CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm SOOOO proud of you! Such a long road and such a great victory!
I have that song in my head the WHOLE day. Actually it's been alternating, that or Thriller, which I heard TWICE this morning! On the radio, and then the seniors workout group that meets at the hospital was working out to it! (That was so funny!)
I love Halloween, but this year has felt like "just another day". I guess that what happens in the gap between childhood and having kids of your own. I am supposed to go to a Halloween party tonight, but don't have the energy to even think about what to dress up as. It doesn't help that my office is like a SAUNA! They decided to switch our old units over to heat instead of A/C last week, but it still gets into the 70's in the afternoons and our windows let in all the heat, and none of the breeze!
I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving, which I managed to get off (although I will have to work Christmas -- BOO Healthcare jobs!). I have 2 favorite times of year:
1) Right around Thanksgiving, with pumpkins and turkey, and xmas sales starting to pop up, good desserts, etc.
2) Right at the beginning of spring when all the flowers start coming out and you realize one day that you should not have worn a jacket. I love that day!
So, my new thing now is Heroes, because I always wanted to start watching it, but I knew I'd be completely lost if I didn't watch it from the beginning. Since we now have Netflix, I can get the episodes on my computer, and it is so awesome! I've been trying to convince David for MONTHS that we needed Netflix, because we are always renting movies and always forgetting to return them on time. I finally went ahead and did it without David, and he now asks me "why didn't we do this earlier???!"
Anyway, I really like Heroes. It is a little bit weird, since it is kind of sci-fi, but it is so entertaining and I never know what's going to happen next! I think there's too much blood for David though, he doesn't deal well with blood on TV (which makes it funny to watch House with him!!)
Nothing else new...so glad it's the weekend!
ADDENDUM:
I would like to give 50% credit to Brian for my introduction to Netflix.
Heroes is on of the best shows around. On the wesbite they release a short comic each week as well to go along with the show, they even do it during the off periods. They help give background to some of the characters...if you really get into it.
So I've been tagged. Honestly didn't think it would get to me!
What is "tagging" about? Post eight random facts/habits about yourself. Choose eight others to "tag", and include the guidelines in your post. Let your "taggees" know that they've been tagged!
1. I was born and raised in Canada, and never thought in a million years I would ever live in Alabama!
2. I am a middle child...almost exactly in the middle, actually. My brother is 6 1/2 years older than me and my sister is 6 1/2 years younger than me.
3. I used to be very musical. I played Piano and flute growing up and I was in the chorus my senior year. I still keep up with piano, but everything else has kind of fallen to the wayside.
4. Hobbies: I have always wanted a cool hobby, and I have tried EVERYTHING: beaded jewelry-making, cross-stitching, painting glass, painting wood, caligraphy, card-making, stamping....and have decided that maybe hobbies aren't for me!
5. I can tile a floor - one of my biggest adult accomplishments thus far! :)
6. David and I have a "road trip" song that we have played for every major road trip we've taken since we started dating, which is "If I had a million dollars". David informed me 2 road trips ago that he wanted a new "road trip" song for a change. So we now listen to "The Rainbow Connection". Odd choice, I know, but we love it! In fact, we rented The Muppet Movie last week!
7. I am terrified of tornadoes. And I live in Alabama.
8. David and I love watching movies. LOVE IT! We watch so many movies a week, and we JUST NOW got Netflix, and I love it!
So, looking back, maybe I'm not the most interesting person in the world, but that's ok!
