-Wow, where did the summer go? It's almost september already!
I'm ready for fall and the change of seasons. I LOVE FALL! This fall will bring many changes for us!
-I'm so wanting to take a trip. We said we would hold off on a trip b/c of our house being built. But I'm really wanting to go somewhere. Maybe we'll do a little something at the end of October?
-The house is coming along. The roofers are horrible and have taken 3 plus weeks to NOT finish the roof. But I must say it is a VERY pretty blue! The brick looks great and it almost done.
We have all the doors and windows so now the house gets locked up at night. Builder still hopes to have us in by the end of Sept.
WOW..can't believe that, only a little over a month and we'll be moving in! I think I may cry when we move in! What a blessing we have been given!
-Becca is such a big girl. Can't believe how fast she's grown.
She talks a lot and is still a very busy little girl. She is getting a little temper, but still a very sweet child. Some days I have baby fever, other days I am perfectly content with this being our family. -Trying to get back some hobbies/talents lately, but not doing too well at that. I hate that I don't draw much anymore and sew, so I am trying to do a little more here and there. I usually just end up picking up a book to read. Which this year I've kept up with the books I've read, just to see how many I read in a year.
-I'm teaching an art class this fall. The kids are roudy and enthusiastic. It's just a once a month class, so I'm gonna enjoy that!
-I've been busy cleaning and massaging lately. Going back to cleaning 2 days a week really has kept me busy. It feels good to be busy, but it wears me out. I need to build up some massage clients, but I may wait till we're in the house and I can have my office in the basement. how exciting!
-I'm super excited about Hannah moving this weekend and having her close so we can hang out and visit more!
Well I just thought I should update.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Me and Becca decided to dress up and be pretty for Daddy when he came home from work yesterday.
Yay for family pics! Yay for a sister who takes awesome pics!
Yay for pregnant bellys! (not mine) Yay for sunshine and smiles and having lots of fun with my baby girl! Yay for finally being done with my deep cleaning! Yay for good friends and family!
Yay for our house being almost totally framed and ready for a roof!
I love y'all so much and miss y'all too!! I can't wait for y'alls house to be down I know you can't wait either!! I can't wait to see everyone this weekend and I will get to play with Brody and Rebecca Lynn. I love ya sister!!
Becca is still growing and learning everyday. She says SO much now and is starting to put more words together and almost sentences.
It's a lot of fun to watch them grow and change! She is precious, but still keeps me on my toes! can't believe she's 19 months!
So we have a foundation for our house now! They have cleared the land, dug the basement and poured the footers. So next will be the block walls. It's very exciting watching the progress!! Rebecca enjoyed seeing the big 'tractors' used to clear the land. House should be done in about 4 months?
So I'm enjoying summertime. I just enjoy the longer days, the sunshine, staying busy. I've always felt so good in the summer. I'm back to work cleaning for my dear friend Hayes(who is now pregnant with baby #6) They leave today for the beach for a MONTH! Which is my fun time to go and REALLY clean while no one is there! Why I enjoy it so much I don't know. I can't do it for just anyone.
I have a couple regular massage clients, and I've been traveling some to do some work. I enjoy getting to visit with people and it's just one way that I can serve others. So that brings me to the title. So I'm very interested in doing more prenatal massage and just working with pregnant woman. I was at the birth of Hayes' 4th child at home and it was just awesome! So this week I had a new experience. I not only was at a friend's labor/delivery, but I massaged her through it. Hayes was there as her doula. It was a new thing for me, but I felt real comfortable with it all and it just brought out the need to nurture in me. I just love caring for people. So with the massage and our encouragement, our friend Kate was able to have the natural birth that she wanted. Again it was awesome!!!
All except for the miner detail at the end where I almost blacked out in the hallway! I think it was a drop in blood sugar and just being tired??? But I'm so ready to help more mama's during labor!! I just don't think I would want to be 'on call' all the time.
Well I realize this is long, so I will quit for now.
Happy summer to everyone!
I have heard that massage can help A LOT during natural birth... plus if someone is wanting to go natural and they are past 40 weeks you can throw them into labor by rubbing their feet :) - I think you'd do great at it!
Baby fever isn't necessarily a bad thing... except that you don't think about everything involved in having another one... just that you want another cuddly little baby to hold!! How are y'all doing?
Good:
-having my parents come yesterday.
-quality time with Mama
-lunch with ALL the family
-Home-made gifts
-16x24 pic of my beautiful daughter!
(my mother's day gift to myself)
-WORK BOOTS! (Mama's gift to me)
-Quality time with Hubby and Daddy hauling limbs and clearing our land!
Not so good:
-Becca being sick for the past 2 weeks
(Bad cold last week + stomach issues this week + teething = sad, tired, miserable baby girl!)
-Taking Becca to the after hours clinic last night
and getting no answers for why she feels so rotten.
-Tornadoes and power outages
yikes...those were SOME storms...hope everyone is ok!
Happy Mother's day to all the Mommy's out there!
I'm gonna go play with Becca a little bit since she decided she's not ready for bed yet.
Well a friend offered for me and Becca to go with her family to the beach this past week. Last weekend Becca had me a nervous wreck with a fever and not feeling well. OK now normally I AM NOT a paranoid Mama and we don't go to the Dr. much and all...but here's how it all started:
Last week Becca had a TB skin test, just another test on her infection stuff she had. Well friday I talked to the nurse and we decided the test was negative...ok good. She had results on Becca's infection: A culture grew a bacteria called AFB (Acid Fast Bacilli) which is part of the MAC (myobacterium Avium Complex) OK so those big words mean that the infection was Atypical TB, NOT an active form of TB. SO everything is fine since she is healing great, BUT if the infection were to come back they would have to treat with heavy medications.
Ok so the nurse says: "Watch her incinsion and should she start running fever, vomiting, cough, etc. let us know"
And what does Becca do? She ran fever all afternoon friday and some sat. and threw up fri. night and starts acting like she does not feel good. So I took her to her Dr. monday and she said everything looked fine so we went on to the beach. BUT as we headed down Becca's cough got worse and needless to say Becca was miserable most of the time we were at the beach. Her cough made me nervous so I ended up taking her to the Doc in Box and he said she jsut had a cold...made me feel better...but made me so sad for BEcca...I really have never seen my happy child so miserable as I have this past week. She is getting better...still a cough and snotty nose.
So anyways..Becca DID get to see the ocean for the first time I just wish she could have enjoyed it a little more. We will try again. THe picture on the left is Becca crying as she walked along the beach looking for mommy!
Well sorry for the long post...I'm off to get Becca in some play clothes now and maybe go to town.
HOpe everyone has a great weekend!
I'm so glad y'all got to go to the beach, but I'm sorry she wasn't feeling well. :( Perhaps it was still good for both of you to have a change of scenery for a while. :) Lov eyou.
