Well, not a lot new going on around here. I will update you all to say that I have now placed membership at the Franklin Church of Christ here in TN. I love all the people there. They have been so kind and really seem like they are trying to get to Heaven and take as many as they can with them. I appreciate that greatly and hope that I can be an encouragement and asset to them as they have already been to me.
Work is still going well. I'm learning the ropes and enjoying the new experience I'm gaining. It can be stressful at times, like any job, but I do enjoy it just the same. Work is never the same around here, which is good. There is always some new problem that comes up in the process so I'm not bored or at a loss for something to do most of the time.
I have to stop here and give a shout to all my folks in Auburn or those who are Auburn fans! I've really been anticipating the start of football season lately. Seems like once summer time gets here and there's nothing much good to watch on TV and focus lies a lot on keeping cool, my mind starts looking forward, looking forward to the cool, crisp weather of the fall and Auburn football! Actually, any SEC college football games will do but, of course, have to show my preference for the Tigers! WAR EAGLE!!! Miss all you guys in Auburn!!!
Well, I guess that's about it for now. Everyone have a great day!
i talked with edwin crozier today. he came to our young preacher's study in b'ham this morning. his brother-in-law preaches at edward's lake. didn't know you were going to the franklin church. that's great! i too, am looking forward to football season kicking off. although we have season tickets to the home games in s'vegas, we may not be able to make any games, since we'll be in KY. maybe we can at least make one! GO DAWGS!!! :)
Hey girl! I'm sorry we didn't get to see you that much at Brentwood, but we had a feeling you'd end up at Franklin. Glad you found a place where you feel comfortable and can contribute - you will be an encouragement there for sure! I'm sure we'll talk or email each other next week--- looking forward to Thursday! See you then! ♥
How was the Scaggs? Good I hope! We have got to go to a game this year! Let's plan to go to one! walker usually got us tickets through his work the times we have gone! I think Ty would love to go to a game! We might leave Terra with mom and dad if we go! YEah! Auburn!
Hey girl! Thanks for the candle and towels- you didn't have to do that. We had so much fun last night-- hope you guys did too. I'm sure we'll want to go again next year. Mom left your batter bowl here with me- so I'll try to get that to you soon! Love ya and have a great weekend.
What's up? Just wanted to check in with you and see if you'd like me to drop off your batter bowl at your house on Sunday? I can walk around the back if you want me to and leave it on your deck? Just didn't want you to think I have forgotten about it. Hope you've had a good week! Love ya- ♥
I know, I know. Its been a while since I posted. Really I don't have an excuse, just didn't have a lot to say. Well, I take that back. I haven't had much to say on my own blog; I have had things to say on others' blogs.
Well, I guess I'll start by updating you on how life in TN is going. I really like it a lot. The area is great and I love the people. My job is going well. I'm learning more and more everyday and hope that it will continue. The house is great. I've recently purchased some new furniture to go in the living room and, with the help of Mom, gotten some things painted that really needed it. You know you just don't realize until you have a place of your own just how much money it takes to maintain it the way you like. I'm enjoying the whole experience though.
The search for a congregation to place membership with is slowly coming to an end. I have visited a lot of places in the area and everyone has been great. I've been looking for about 3 months now and I think I know where I belong. This search has really made me appreciative of my Christian brothers and sisters and those that stand for the truth with no apologies. That is rare in this day and time and when you find it or are around it, you know it and you don't want to distance yourself from it. Or at least you shouldn't want to distance yourself from it. I just hope that I can be a strength and asset for other Christians as some have been for me.
Well, moving to other things... I have some family coming into town this weekend (fam, you know who you are) and I need some suggestions from all of you bloggers out there on some good chick flicks that you've seen or heard about. Thanks!
I guess that's about all for now...Maybe I'll post again soon instead of you not hearing from me for almost 2 months! :)
Where did you place membership? You bought a house! YAY! Where? Clayton and I are in the process of house hunting right now. It's so stressful!! Any advice?!
how bout Texas Chainsaw Massacre..... that's my favorite...... I know Nora likes Sweet Home Alabama.... only because Mr. McDreamy is in it......later cus...
It doesn't really matter to me-- I don't know of any movies right off hand. We could always wait and get them after we eat Friday night- or whatever. I have The Notebook that I could bring-- I end up balling like a baby at the end though... Anyway, just e mail me and let me know what time is good for you to meet Friday night. Mom and Sarah are coming up early Friday morning- so mom can spend some time here with William- but we can meet just about anytime after work. I'm thinking Texas Roadhouse! Love you and can't wait!
I miss you too Julie! I am just trying to survivie right now in school...boy do I miss those carefree days of the only worry being about what color lip stick to wear!
I ordered you a classic batter bowl and it has come in...it was $18 something with tax and shipping and all. I do not know when I will see you next. If you decide you don't want it, I'll just keep it or trade it for something that I want! Just let me know!
I will be at camp and dad's surgery will be on the 7th. I am not sure if I will be down there for that or not...we'll have to just see. After camp, I will try to send you an e-mail
mom and dad will be up Monday and I will ask Jonathan to remember to give it to them so that they can bring it to you when they come for the concert. Just make it an even 18.00 and that will be fine! Hope things are still good in TN!
That's right. I'm moving again, but its not what you think. I'm not moving out of my townhouse. Just out of my current office at work. The entire office building is moving to another newly constructed buidling right next door. We have been sharing our current office building with other businesses but this new building will completely be housing us. I can tell you that I'm tired of moving and don't wish to do it again anytime soon. One of the good things about this move is that I will have tomorrow (Friday) off so the move of the office equipment can be completed. Long weekend for me!!! Yes!!!!
On another note, starting this Sunday, the Franklin Church of Christ is beginning a gospel meeting with Mike Waters of Cullman, AL. He will be speaking through Wednesday on the topic of Angels. If anyone is in the area of Franklin, TN and interested, just post a comment or email me at jules31477@yahoo.com.
I guess that's all for now. Hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend!
are you referring to sewing or quilting????? I taught myself to sew by just picking a simple pattern and following the directions. Quilting...I am using a book and you do not have to own a sewing machine...you can hand piece and just use needle and thread...I think you are alreay an expert at needle and thread right??? I'll bring the blocks I am working on to moms on memorial day to show you!
Hey- Since we're making it a family thing-- then you should see if your mom wants to come up too. She could maybe go to mom's house and ride up with her and Nora if she wants too. And don't worry- I have a blow up bed I can bring, or we can move the party back to my house...whatever you guys want to do is fine! I can't wait!!
well, I do not know if Franklin can take this many "Gilbert" girls all at once....we had better call government to okay this!!! JK I am looking forward to the time away from home too!
Julie,
Hey I had no idea you were on here! Congrats on your move to TN. I hope you love it here. Maybe we will see you sometime. If you are ever going north of Nashville you will have to stop by.
Thanks. I am soooo ready for next weekend too--- not the turning 30 part-- but for the girls night! Someone told me that 27 dresses was really good and funny. I'm up for anything! What time do you get off work? I think mom and Sarah are coming to my house first and they can just ride with me. Still not sure where to eat-- but it will either be Logan's, Macaroni Grill, or PF Changs. Looking forward to it....♥
Okay, okay, I think I've put this off as long as I can. Apparently from the looks of a few of the comments I've received recently, I need to give more information on my guy "friend."
Well, I won't give away everything (have to keep you guys coming back for more) but, I will say that this "friend" is slowly becoming a little more than that. I'm just calling him a "friend" at this point because it takes the pressure off both of us for a while. We've been hanging out quite a bit lately taking it slow and trying to get to know each other better. Its nothing more than casual at this point and to say more would be pushing it so I'll leave it at that.
I won't promise that I'll keep you updated but maybe if you're good, I'll slip in a little tid bit every now and then! Have a great weekend! :)
