Wednesday was nice. We got to watch a video in BIO that was a photographer documentary, but it was a documentary about him using still pictures to enlighten people on the effects of rapid industrialization as in China. The pictures were stunning, but the images it leaves you with of how it has affected China is even more stunning, and sometimes dumbfounding. On Wed. I also got the grade back on the aforementioned paper that I stayed up till 2am to write, and I was expecting to get only an OK grade on it (I felt underprepared and had to write it in one shot thenight before), but he liked it enough for a 97. WOW. He also gave me the 5 pt. early-turn-in bonus when I turned it in on the normal due-date. The funniest part about that was that when I asked him about it in an email, he responded by saying "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" LOL! I still don't get it.
Then after a cool class about Solomon's Temple (during which the roof was groaning and creaking from the wind - FREAKY) I bought Jim Colby's blue, 1990 Toyota Corolla! (same model year as me)
THURSDAY!!!!!!
You know what happened Thursday, I pigged out. DUH
Friday I pretty much just goofed around all day 'till the Desloges singing, and that was really nice. It was cool that Ryan could come too. After the singing Ryan and I went over to Zach and Garrett's houses to play Halo 3, then we went to B's house to hang out and spend the night. We played Halo 2 at B's house till 4am. OUCH. oh, and then We got up at 7:30 and took Ryan to a class he had at the Hillsboro PCC center.
Saturday!
Hee-hee, here's the good part: While B and I were waiting for Ryan we decided to go take a walk. And what did we walk past? Larry Miller Honda... So me and Brandon gets to talkin' and we decides to go for a little drive. We goes and talks to the Sales-dood and ask if we's could test drive a new Civic Si. You know what he said? NO... He didn't say no, he said yes!!!!!! So we went and test drove that wonderful car with 197 hp, a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission, and an 8,000 RPM redline: a recipe for delicioous driving. It was delicious, especially when (by request of the salesman) I punched it in 2nd gear all the way up to that screaming 8k redline. Can you say 60 in 2nd?
The not-so-delicious part of saturday? The Beavers lost to the stoopid Ducks in the most important game of the season (for multiple reasons) with the biggest score allowed the opponent by the Beavs EVER. But we got some more Halo 3 in at Garrett's house!
Sunday: Another great lesson from Mark in the morning, nap in the afternoon (so much for studying, lol), and then a very nice lesson from Ryan Sollars in the evening. After PM worship we went over to Kaaaaassshhhkkaaaaaahhhhhh's house for GAME NIGHT! I somehow managed to win both the "I love you Kitty, but" game and Apples To Apples. Weird.
Monday: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENED. Oh, wait... There was school, and work (there's the nothing, haha) and then quartet practice in the evening.
Today I didn't have to get up for an 8am lab... YAY!!!!
I transferred the title to my new car, and painted a metal safety-guard thingy OSHA yellow. Oh, the best part of today was that I got new Classical music to listen to, and installed an upddate for my Zune (which I don't think I've mentioned here yet) that gave me Sudoku and a space wars game. Cool beans...
Well, that was so long-winded that there's only ONE thing left to say:
Antidisestablishmentarianism is unequivicably supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
And that's saying a lot!
I managed to stay awake long enough to finish my silly essay! (It gets increasingly difficult to write a paper on the fal of Rome when it's 2 in the morning) lol, well it's REALLY late, and I have school in the morning, so I'll talk to y'all later!
I had a fun opportunity today: I learned how to MIG weld... (Metal Inert Gas)...
It was interesting to see how to do it more up close, but this time I got to do it. It's a bit tricky to see what you're doing. It's also a bit tricky to get the speed of your hands to be slow enough. They seemed to be impressed with how I did on the first try, so that was cool. The coolest part is that I got a nice, big, pink, Kiki-hand sized burn on my left arm from the heat and spatter... Lol, don't worry about it though, it's no worse than a normal mild sunburn...
I'll have lots more opportunity to make stuff now that I know how to do it! Now I need a cutting torch and welding machine... Hmmmmm....
