Last time I posted my family was about to converge on our house for a few days. The boys and I had prepared by getting ahead in school. On Wednesday morning we all got up and got ready and went to the zoo!! I love the zoo!! I love all the animals and it always reminds me how wonderful God is to have created all these wonderful creatures and their unique contributions to our earth!! Here's my favorite animal:

The second day was Moody Gardens!! How amazing!!! My favorites are the penguins and then the seahorses. There's also a unicorn fish, but they're not as pretty as the real unicorns!! (no comments please ;) )
The little penguin in the front stood there forever and didn't move. The three in the back had been standing around with one of them facing a crevice in the rock. It looked like he was standing at the ticket window for their movie tickets. He finally turned like he'd gotten them and they all turned and walked off into this cave area. We were laughing our heads off!!

The last day was Kemah. It was fun because we were all together, but it wasn't nearly as neat as the zoo and Moody Gardens. And it was HOT and HUMID!!!
Mom and Dad left on Friday and Joel, Kristi and Alton stayed to go to Johnny's 1st birthday party on Saturday. Here's Alton at the pumpkin patch wearing his pumpkin and candy corn hat:

If you're wondering why there are like 500 shots of several pictures (the ones with Kristi and Alton) Joel thinks that if one picture of a pose is good 500 should be the ticket.
I guess most of you have heard by now that I'm going to be an aunt again!! We're very excited. The boys and I decided that Kristi doesn't need the burden of two babies, so Alton is going to come live with us until he's about 18 or so. She and Joel can raise Sapphron or Toby in peace!
I'm sure everyone either quit or fell asleep, so I guess I'll quit for now. But I've got tons more to say, so I'll post again tomorrow or so.
I'm sorry it was a small party. Was it on Friday or Saturday? There was a 20's and 30's class on Saturday that Jay went to. We'll see you tonight, and I have a picture for you!
Kelby and I love watching Meerkat Manor - from the first episode. There are certain little meerkats that you grow to love. The first season it was Shakespeare. This season it's been Mitch. But Friday night was beyond sad. The leader, Flower, was bitten on the head by a cobra trying to save her pups and she died!! She's been the head of the Whiskers (her family) for 4 years. On to happier things:
We had a really fun weekend!! Friday night the guys had a Halo 3 party. There were 12 males from 13 to 42 playing. They were hooked up to 3 TVs all over my house. But they really had so much fun!! Good food and good Christian friends!!
Yesterday was more for me. I met up with 2 of my knitting friends. One of them I've know for about a year. The other one I've only talked to online. We met at a yarn shop in Spring. We shopped, knitted, and visited. Then we went to lunch at Panera Bread. That was the longest I've ever left my boys alone. I know they're old enough, but I'm not!! However, it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting!!
This afternoon Logan and Chuck went to see Craig Biggio play his last game. Kelby and I hate baseball (but I like Biggio because he's one of the good guys!!), so we went out to lunch at Hasta la Pasta. Then we stopped at Michael's so I could buy some yarn for a Christmas present.
We're only having two days of school this week. My parents and they're coming to go do some fun things.

Hi there! How have you guys been doing? Sorry I havn't dropped you a quick note before now. Between work and family these last couple of weeks, well...not a whole lot of time! Sounds like you had a fun week. We went to see the U.H. football game saturday night. Joanna (our youngest) is a freshmen at the University of Houston and majoring in music and of course in the band.
I am *SO* bummed that we don't have Animal Planet. We got dish network sometime last year and thought we were getting it, because we really love Animal Planet, especially The Crocodile Hunter. I need to just call and have them change our package to include it.
I really didn't mean to go this long between posts!!! So much has happened in the last week.
First, my cousin...She is home from the hospital (at her parent's for the time being). She is still in massive pain. What happened was that she developed a sinus infection after her surgery and she coughed and ruptured another disc. That happened because the tissue around it was weakened from the surgery!! Bless her heart!!
Last Thursday Chuck, the boys, and I went to Lufkin. On Friday afternoon we went to Beaumont to go to Carlo's to see one of my dearest friends (a knitting friend) sing. On the way there we called Chuck's mom to tell her that we were on our way and she told us that the restaurant would be closing forever Saturday night!! 8( That restaurant has been around Beaumont FOREVER!!! When we got there my friend got the biggest smile on her face and then we both got teary. Here are some pics:
It was such an awesome night!! She is such an amazing singer. I also got to meet and visit with her. She's so awesome!!
Then Saturday we went to visit them!!! I cannot get enough of Alton!!!
He didn't feel well...Cutting teeth and all!! Bless his little heart!!
This week we've been busy trying to do a little extra school work because of some plans we have next week. (More about that later)
On the knitting front: I knit a headband (no picture, yet), a holder to put on my Starbucks cups!! I finished Johnny's candy corn hat. Right now I'm working on a sweater for a certain little boy who's not here, yet!! I knit this little sweater for Alton.

It's so sweet and easy to knit. Once I'm done, I'll take pictures. So really no knitting pictures to post at all right now. ( I know y'all are so disappointed 8P )
the car turned out to be okay... the computer was clean, the check engine light was coming on because it's an older model x-terra and it was telling jay to keep his rpm's down or he would bust a piston... (actually it was an oversensitive reaction, Jay wasn't working the vehicle too hard)
A few days ago I mentioned my cousin was going to have very serious back surgery. She actually had the surgery last Wednesday. She has been in the hospital ever since. She was in a great amount of pain and she had to accomplish some things before she was allowed to go home. Well, as it turns out one of her discs had slipped again!!!!! She had to have surgery again today. It's really hard to get any details because they are all consumed with her. Her parents are taking care of her boys. Her older son is in 6th grade and is trying to concentrate on school. The hospital is an hour from her parent's house. And her husband is trying to finish college!! It's just so rough on all of them!! Y'all just please pray that this second surgery will be the final one and that she will have relief from the pain!!!!
