New York musical 08-13-08 09:11am CST
I just found out I've been cast in a new musical that is going to New York in September. It's called "Motherhood: The Musical". My character is 9 months preg-o and 3 other moms are throwing a shower for me, telling their funny and moving stories about motherhood, etc. The script is pretty hilarious. I get to sing a whole song about the joys of being an Avon lady.

We start rehearsal Friday and will hit NYC for readings with production companies and a New Works Festival September 20. They think there will be a run at TPAC and maybe some other regional theaters also. Yee-haw.
danbrownWhen are you ever going to be home??? This is really cool, though.
angelaThat's awesome! Who wrote it?
tucketThat's so exciting!! Congratulations!
angelaCool.

Yeah, I'm not sure Oscar Wao's for everyone.
britt22wow! That sounds great!
cellophanewait, you didn't audition for it they just cast you in it? gee, that was nice! kidding. I'm sure you'll do great and I bet it'll be a lot of fun! Not sure about the song about the 'joys' of being an Avon lady, though... :P
summeralyWow! That's so cool! Can't wait to hear all about it!
olsonateamThat sounds like a fun opportunity. I would hate to be playing 9 months pregnant for long. Maybe you could talk them into letting you be a cute 6 months pregnant! Keep us posted on how it's going. Miss you!
esduboisYay you! We are so proud.

esduboisDitto what Misty said. But I have a watch line to prove I did get SOME sun. :) The cruise was awesome. So beautiful and relaxing. How's the show going? I miss hanging out with you! Hope you have a good week.
tucketWow! I was going to say the same exact things!
tucketHow's the show? Did they make changes right up to the premiere?
cellophaneYou might be interested to know that Nichole Nordeman includes an accordian player on her lates "Live at the Door" album. I'm listening to "Fool For You" (originally from "This Mystery") with an accordian in the background. It made me think of you and your dad. :)
esduboisI am! I think some of us are going to come see your show in August. Can't wait!
emailI did get to CO fine. Thank you so much for that short notice ride!

danbrownI'll be there. I value my well being too highly to not be. :)
ticketsso the shows are going well?
antiisaacholmani'm thinking i'll be down in the 'ville for a few days, beginning tomorrow (maybe)
antiisaacholmanso true, so true, and I barely talked to you. boo!
antiisaacholmanit is not doubt for the greater good that i was not filmed. as is public knowledge, i am not photogenic. a few weeks ago, i finally looked at the foto they took for the member's bulletin board here in BG. Um, "hideous" is too slight a word to describe said picture. and so i went home, found a picture of Ty Penington (he was in an ad in a mag) and taped that over my own cabeza. a definite improvement. i'm thinking that i will periodically update the false head, maybe doing something seasonal like Michael Myers for Christmas and Santa for Memorial Day
