This is Sam - We just want to thank you for all of your prayers and concern. We learned this morning that my father's blood clot is finally gone. There was a complication yesterday during the procedure and the surgeon had to leave the catheter in his veins all night long so they could work like a soaker hose and distribute a very strong blood thinner called TPA. This highly increased the risk of bleeding in the brain and stroke. So, it was a very long and prayer filled night. However, when the surgeon took him in this morning, he found that the TPA had done its work and the clot was almost completely gone. The little that is left can be managed with blood thinners and, Lord willing, he should be able to go home in the next few days. We are, of course, very thankful for this report and thankful for the prayers from you all. God is so good to us and I am trying to remember to be as diligent in my prayers of thanksgiving as I was in my prayers for help over the past few days.
I really have moved...however it's hilarious when I showed up at church everyone was like: "uh..didn't you leave?" OR they said "oh no..did something not work out?"
it didn't come up on the google map i was looking at! i know you're from conway! and zooming WAAAAAY in on the map, i would be going through conway! ;o)
no, never been to grand canyon & yes had planned to do that (flagstaff) :o)
Ok. I'm just going to keep referencing Trisha's blog. This has been hard on Sam's family and we need and appreciate all of the prayers that you can say. Thanks everyone.
My sister-in-law has posted something on her blog that I would like for all of you to look at. Lots of prayers are needed for our family right now. Thanks everyone!
Last weekend, Sam and I met some of my family for some fun in the sun! Altogether there were 20 of us. We had a great time, but we definitely didn't want to go back home. But before we met my side of the family we met Sam's sister and neice, Angie and Abbey, Friday night. The next morning the four of us went to the beach and spent the morning there. It was fun, but we got sunburnt! Oh well, the price you pay to spend some time at the beach. Later that morning we met up with my parents, my aunt and uncle, and one of my cousins. We had lunch and then spent some time visiting. We also got to watch Abbey practice her dance recital that she has coming up soon...well, we got to watch as much of it as she felt like showing us. She's quite a character!
Here is a picture of Angie and Abbey right before they left
After lunch they had to head back to New Orleans to pick up Michael (Angie's husband) from the airport...which by the way, got canceled, which stinks because they could have stayed longer. Anyway, after lunch we met up with the rest of the family and headed to the condo. It was quite nice. Here are a couple of pictures.
The view from the balcony
And the view from the couch...
Sam and I and our sunburns
Later that afternoon we took some family pictures. You know, the white shirt, khaki pants on the beach photos. They turned out really good. Here are some of my favorites...
My personal favorite
And then some others...
And my parents. Aren't they cute?
Here's a picture of the rest of the crew. My uncle, aunt, and lots of cousins
And the cute little cousins.
On Sunday afternoon we headed back to Atlanta to start another week. It was a quick trip, but we were very glad to get to go. Now we get to look forward to our next adventure. We're going back to Arkansas for the 4th of July...to see all of these people again! We don't get to see them very often, so any time we get to see them it's great. Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend as well.
I love the family pictures! Your sunburn was very interesting too. Kind of looks like you had sunscreen on except in spots. I shouldn't laugh though I took my kids swimming at my moms yesterday and fried my shoulders! but I don't know how the beach can compare to Arkansas! :)
You'll love the French Quarter...it'd be cool to ride in one of those horse and carriages I saw..to ride that around town! I would have really liked to have stayed and heard some good jazz!
YES!!!! Ross is in Conway!!!! He is there till tomorrow afternoon...but he goes there often for work..so the next time he goes I'll tell you and then you can tell your parents! And I agree w/ her!!!
My people at work love to leave their aprons laying around everywhere in the back room. Then they come to work without their own CLEAN apron and throw on the first one they can find. They don't care that it probably has infinite mocha stains, soured milk, rotting whip cream, and crystallized syrups all over it. So, I decided that I would just keep them at my house and then slowly they would realize that they would just have to bring their own from home. But in the meantime, the green aprons have taken over. That's all for now. Enjoy the rest of your week.
you could send me someone's apron! those are great aprons. my apron is so dirty, no sour milk just dust and dirt and some paint. i do wash it though.. probably not as often as i should.
no, we're not going with Bill and Julie...we'll be about two weeks apart. We actually scrapped Venice from our itinerary because so many people raved about CT. We'll only have two nights there, but I'm so excited about it!!! I miss you, & hope all is well :)
